PRELUDE A Mighty Fortress Is Our God Martin Luther LIFE OF THE CONGREGATION Moment of silence to prepare your hearts for worship SONG OF DEVOTION (hymnal & screen) (please remain seated) #595 I Give All to You (vs. 1) LET US WORSHIP GOD TOGETHER CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 145:1-3, 7) Leader: I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your Name for ever and ever. People: Every day I will praise You and extol Your Name for ever and ever. Leader: Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. People: We celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness. INVOCATION Leader: Almighty God provide for us all that we need to do Your work. Enable us to glorify You with our lives and praise You with our voices. Bind the evil one from our lives and protect us from the lies that make us anxious about Your provision. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. SONGS OF PRAISE (insert, hymnal & screen) Behold Our God #9 Glorify Thy Name CALL TO CONFESSION (Psalm 31:1-5, 9a) Leader: In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in Your righteousness. Turn Your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. Since You are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of Your Name lead and guide me. Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for You are my refuge. Into Your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God. Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress. Our only place to turn when the distress of our sin overwhelms us is to God who mercifully forgives all who repent and turns their lives over to Him. Let us confess our sin in silent prayer. SILENT PRAYER
PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Almighty God, forgive us for not trusting You to provide for us. We are anxious about all we have and if we have enough. We hoard our food, money and possession just in case we might need them. But You have created a world filled abundantly with all that we need. Help us to trust in Your providence and share Your blessings with one another. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Psalm 31:14, 16-17, 19) Leader: But I trust in You, Lord; I say, You are my God. Let Your face shine on Your servant; save me in Your unfailing love. Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to You; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. How abundant are the good things that You have stored up for those who fear You, that You bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in You. Sisters and brothers in Christ, believe the good news: you are forgiven. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles Creed Unison: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
