Most children know something about stranger danger, but do they know about friendly strangers? Many predators will use tricks to lure young victims such as asking for help walking a dog, offering candy, or pretending to know their parents. No matter how friendly someone may be, children should know that if they don t know the person, they should never go anywhere with them. Give kids simple rules: it s okay to run away from someone you don t know, and to shout no! or go away! if a stranger is talking to you or asking you to go anywhere. Divine Mercy Sunday (Second Sunday of Easter) Sister Faustina of the Most Blessed Sacrament "Remember My Passion, and if you do not believe My words, at least believe My wounds.'' - Jesus' words to Sister Faustina Saint Pope John Paul II had established this feast on the calendar of the universal Church, and was a great proponent of the Divine Mercy devotion. Saint Pope John Paul II remarked that Jesus offers his infinite mercy to man, "who so often seems lost and dominated by the power of evil, egoism and fear." There is nothing that man needs more than Divine Mercy. Whoever sincerely says: "Jesus, I trust in you" will find comfort in all his anxieties and fears. The Lord Jesus chose Sr. Mary Faustina as the Apostle and Secretary of His Mercy, so that she could tell the world about His great message. In the Old Covenant, He said to her: I sent prophets wielding thunderbolts to My people. Today I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish aching mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to My Merciful Heart. (Diary 1588) The Church rereads the message of mercy in order to being with greater effectiveness to this generation and to future generation the light of hope. Unceasingly the Church implores from God mercy for everyone. Today each one of us should share to others: "I will sing the mercies of the Lord forever" (Ps 89:1). We commit ourselves to the mission of mercy in our world. Ask for mercy, Be merciful to others, and Completely trust in Jesus. And, together, we say: "Jesus, I trust in you. Amen. Fr.
