We pray for wisdom, integrity and justice to flourish in the governments of famine-stricken East Africa, so that aid agencies such as World Vision can partner with them effectively to meet the needs of vulnerable children in the region. St. Mary's Nursery is now called St. Mary's Pre-School. We changed our name because people found it misleading. We offer a pre-school education for 2, 3 & 4 year olds rather than full day care for working parents. We continue to provide a large variety of activities which include Forest school and Spanish sessions for our older children and we still have some morning sessions available for the coming year.

St Mary s Church Family News This Week Year of the Bible Competition for everyone at St Mary s to enter: We re going to make a book! We ve picked some verses and numbered them from 1 100. It s 1 to enter. Pick a number you ll be emailed the verse to illustrate as you wish: paint, collage, pencils, photos etc. All pictures to be submitted to either the church office, Richard Pearson or Fiona Prentice by Nov 19th. See the team at the font after the 9.30 service in church. Full details on registration. ALL PROFITS GO TO THANKS A MILLION. Please note the deadline has been extended to 19th Nov and we want to make it clear that it is open to EVERYONE to enter young/old, children/adults! On Monday 6 th November (6pm) eight ringers from St Mary s Horsham and eight ringers from St Margaret s Warnham will attempt to ring half-muffled quarter peals of Grandshire Triples. This is to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of two of our local ringers, James Miles and Alfred Comper Yates. Together they rang the church bells at Horsham and at Warnham; together they had joined the Territorial Force before the war; together they were killed fighting in Palestine at the Third Battle of Gaza. We will remember them. Mon 6 th Nov 7.30pm HOPE Monthly Parish Prayer Meeting at St Leonard s: We will have a short communion within our prayer meeting and refreshments will be served afterwards. All the St. Mary's church family are encouraged to join with members of our 3 sister churches in Horsham Parish, in making this monthly prayer meeting a priority in our diaries. These coffee mornings follow on from a simple Eucharist (in St Peter s Chapel in the church centre) at 10.00am to which all are welcome and are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in the month: next date is 23 rd Nov. The cremation afterwards is for family only and refreshments will be served in St Leonard s Hall. HCT NIGHT SHELTER 1st Dec 2017-15 Mar 2018: Thank you for sending in completed and signed Volunteer Applications. More volunteers are still needed. The Oasis Centre was established to provide compassionate and independent advice and support to those facing decisions associated with unintended pregnancy and pregnancy loss as a result of miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion. It also runs an education programme in local schools for around 2,000 pupils every year. The team meets every 2 nd Monday of the month for prayer from 8pm-9pm alternating between Crawley and Horsham. The next prayer meeting in Horsham is on the Mon 13 th November at The Oasis Centre, 11 Queen Street, Horsham. Everyone is welcome. BIBLE STUDY DAY: Understand the New Testament in a Whole New Way! School governors provide strategic leadership and accountability in schools and hold the main responsibility for finance in schools, and it is governors who work with the headteacher to make the tough decisions about balancing resources. In addition foundation governors have a particular responsibility to uphold the Christian foundation of the school. Coming soon St Mary's School's HSA shopping evening, with nearly 30 handpicked local businesses coming under the same roof. There will be a wide range of businesses at the school on the night, including artists, fashion stalls, food outlets, beauty therapists and even a florist. For just 5 a ticket visitors will not only gain access to this event in the school hall on Tuesday, November 14 (6.30pm to 9pm) but also receive a glass of prosecco and a mince pie.
