Our involvement stopped when the hosting church determined it could no longer support the effort. We are happy to announce we ve been approached by the Spring Lake Estates Civic Association to start this initiative in their neighborhood. If all goes well, we ll be hosting hot meals to anyone who comes from 5:30 to 6:30 on Monday evenings. We already have a dedicated team in place (please contact Mary Miller if you d like to be a back-up). Our goals are to not only provide a meal, but to help build a sense of community, educate guests as to available resources and provide various classes including parenting skills and financial management. Please keep this whole project in your prayers as we strive to Learn, Live and Share the Good News with our neighbors.

An Invitation from the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute (LPMI) So often people ask how they can grow in their faith. In response to this, then Bishop N. Lynch initiated the formation of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute. The LPMI is a four-year program: an informal year of discernment and three years of formal academic training and spiritual growth. The initial segment of the program, the Year of Discernment, consists of eight Saturday sessions from 9:30am to 3:00 pm. The classes meet at Christ the King Parish, located at 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. Classes begin on September 8, 2018 and continue once monthly through April 2019. For 20 years, the LPMI has provided education and formation for laity in four areas of formation: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral. The program is designed to enhance personal faith and develop intellectual aptitude to enrich ministry efforts. Our skilled instructors include a variety of priests, deacons and laity who are active in ministerial roles in our diocese. For anyone interested in attending the LPMI Year of Discernment the registration form and program information can be found on the LPMI website at: www.dosp.org/lpmi. Or call the LPMI office at 727-344-1611, ext. 5458, or email: lpmisepi@dosp.org. Registrations are due in the LPMI office no later than August 31, 2018. The Legion of Mary will be celebrating Our Blessed Mother s birthday, September 7, 2018. After the 8:00 am mass, coffee and cake will be served in the parish hall, followed by praying the rosary. All are welcome! The Women s Faith Discussion Group Books, The Bible, Fellowship The Women s Faith Discussion Group will resume its meetings on September 19, 2018. We meet in the Community Room of the Parish Center on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00 pm. Newcomers are very welcome! Please join us for fellowship, refreshments and a lively study of faith. This year we will be discussing several books, Revelation, and The Gospel of Luke. Please contact: Tina Risso at 727-846-1250 to register! Many thanks!

If you feel a call (even a faint whisper) join one of the orientation sessions to learn more. All sessions this week are held in the mid section of the parish center. See days and times to the left.
