STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY Spiritual Support Group for People with Life-Threatening Illnesses Friday, January 4, 1:00-2:30 p.m. Facilitator: Rev. Mr. R. Christoph Sandoval, Deacon The focus and goal of this ministry is spiritual support for people with life threatening illnesses including Coronary Artery Disease, Stroke, Cancer, HIV Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, etc. Diagnosis of a life-threatening illness is an opportunity to seek spiritual support through Word, Sacrament and Community. This free spiritual care support group is held on the First Friday each month in the Msgr. Bowe Room, on the west side of the parking lot level of the Cathedral. The session will also provide guidance on Catholic Teaching and the preparation of Health Care Directives for medical care. To reach the Msgr. Bowe Room, enter the parking lot from Cleary Court and look for the iron gate on that side of the building. The Msgr. Bowe Room is just inside the gate, and to your right. For details, call Dcn. Our special Cathedral guidelines ensure a successful and memorable experience for couples and their families. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY Second Collection, December 29-30 The second collection next weekend will be taken for the Saint Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Mary s Cathedral. Please give generously. Your financial support helps SVdP provide emergency groceries to families in need in our Parish and meals as well as gift bags during the Winter Homeless Shelter which begins here each year in December.
