A day to remember was during the fall last year in the month of monsoon cheer when everyone wanted to hear the announcement of their leaders I was the house captain but that was way back then it was time fir the assembly and Madam Principal went on the stage steadily the council members were announced and my name was pronounced I was surprised but in no time, found myself on stage upright Vignesh 11 Science As I walked off the hall I found myself decorated with a tie and a badge for each step I took, responsibilities piled up like books and I knew exactly what I had to do after all, that day was one to remember.

As the dark clouds descended that gloomy evening as my hardest day yet prolonged little did I realise what I was doing until I met him, the special one I longed Lakshmi 11 Mgmt He sat by near the wall his huge eyes gazing at me, as though, I were a dove I braced myself and stood tall concluding this could be no more than love As our eyes met, whilst our hearts blazing I picked him up, embracing through the fog and today, five years later, he sits beside me, chasing all the problems I faced with, yes, he is my dog.

Twas a nocturnal noon in July 2006 when my little brain aged no more than six A joyous little bundle of flesh was delivered with pale cheeks, cotton hair and blushed eyes, he quivered Hands that could barely wrap around my thumb the over whelming euphoria left me numb Mona 11 Mgmt A prince was born to the queen of the castle my Gretel had finally found her Hansel The silvery sunlit leaves sparkled like ember and it forever a day to remember.

The moment I saw the pale pink skin the tiny fingers and those small eyes the world around me started to spin I never believed I would see such beauty engraved on a face with such minute details there it lay in my hands when it gave it s first cry Amrutha 11 Mgmt This sound filled the air I hear noisy and displeasing at the beginning later that became a soothing rhythm to my ear This cute child was my xerox copy right from the tip of my hair to my toe from that day my brother made my life happy.

Twilit was the realm beyond nightingales chirped, the stage they owned kept the black carpet, the stars ablaze and the moon, couldn t I help but gaze Risheek Kandoi 11 Mgmt Along the seashore, there lay sand upon which waves undulating, claimed their land the symphony recurring, I hear as forward, I paced the win a whisper, tranquil I faced Transcendental, the place was home felt the serenity, for which long I d longed but, had to leave, felt myself clamber and noted a day, I couldn t forget to remember.

I ve seen bad days; I ve seen good days; But, today was a day to remember. I ve never seen anything as crazy, sure you wouldn t as well. Today, I saw a man who who took my shade; and oh what a sleep he got. Five hours later, he said Oh My My! and said he d transformed into a god. At first, I laughed and swayed away; But then, suddenly he hugged. Next up, came a new little bird with a lot of twigs in its beak; It had so much, so much so, that it tried but it couldn t speak. It found a corner in my branches, where it started laying down its twigs; Oh Boy!, felt I due to the feeling of tickles, it ended my troubles. And boy, have I ever been so much on top of the world? That question rung into my mind. I m still a budding tree which has yet to arrive at its growth. Never, have I experienced the emotion of togetherness and harmony; and now it feels so good. IN THE ONENESS WAS A DAY TO REMEMBER! Vinayak IB 1st year

I trotted on, as a lady lifted me with dangling feet I turned to see Mom, when will we meet? She had lied to her son my mother, as as evening became weeks and time didn t bother Pragadeeshwaran 11 Science Her tears, were tended to by my father mine, lovingly wiped by a stranger I called her Ma am and sans Mom s armour she had sealed the vacuum It s been 12 years since hostel became home and as for the mistakes I make there s none to blame but me, and me alone.

Friends come and friends go, and life goes in that flow. Immense joy so momentary, lasts the span of a blossoming tree. Moments turn to memories, and recounting tales turn to regrets. I regret not what I did wrong, but the good things I did for the wrong people. Vasika IB first year Laughter so dark, from mouths behind a mask. Why call them all friends, When they won t stand till the very end? Love is a commodity, and a smile s worth a lot. This is all I ve got, in this jungle we call the city. It s good to apologise for saying what you feel. Cause it s just plain wrong to be real. This is the truth, and I ve faced it all. All in just a single day. All in that day to remember.

Bring me the box over there, said dad And don t open it, but I couldn t hear the curiosity within me Shoot let me just follow pandoras suit but my dad was trailing me I took the box in my hand with a smile as wide as a valley my dad signalled me to untie the band that would be the last time my father smiled because of me.... I didn t bother neither did my new phone, who got all my attention and time, the 10x3 cm device has bought tension in our 15 year long relationship my mother cried, the tears were endless I wanted to wipe, but the fear of loosing the current kept me rooted my phone kept calling me it was glued to my hand I really want to change everything feels strange so there I hoped, to make a difference throwing the phone i set out to change a day, a moment to remember! Bala Venkat 11 Science

It was a day to remember I fought back the slumber As I was lashed by the embers At first I didn t think I was cut enough to bleed Then I saw my secrets getting swallowed by the sea Through a telescope I saw a Dromond glow How it brought me home I guess I will never know With God as my witness Never had it so good Jumping into life Facing all the strife When the roof caved in I was screaming out But couldn t make a sound I knew it was a dream When my back hit the ground And things turned around I knew it was a dream.
