Employees of the store related a male subject attempted to cut the security alarm from a cell phone on display. The security devices alarm activated and employees responded to investigate. The male subject was prohibited from returning to the store. No complaints to be signed. Neri was picked up at the Freehold Township Police Department and lodged at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. He attempted to flee the scene gut was stopped by a manager. This incident is pending complaints. Patrolman Eric Voorand handled the incident. 18MN25089 Criminal Mischief / Trespassing On Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:07pm a 22-year-old female Manalapan resident reported that she observed three males running through her backyard and that they had caused damage to her fence. The males were identified as juvenile Manalapan residents who admitted running through the yards while playing a game of Manhunt. The juveniles were turned over to their parents. No complaints signed. The actors, who fled the area prior to police arrival, were reported have used pepper spray and were possibly armed with a knife. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis was the 18MN25061 Fraud On Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 4:29 p.m., a 78-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor purported to be a representative from a technical support company via telephone. That individual was able to gain access to the victim s computer and fraudulently obtained $840.00 from the victim for services. Gadson II, a 34-yearold, married, male, resident of Asbury Park, NJ, who is employed as a teacher s aid, was arrested at the Colt s Neck Police Department regarding warrants that were issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00 and the Freehold Township Police Department in the amount of 1,000.00. Mr. Gadson was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Patrolman Matthew Meyler was the arresting officer. 18MN24999 Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia On Saturday, September 29, 2018, at approximately 12:41 a.m., Patrolman Douglas Zike investigated a vehicle that had entered a DWI Checkpoint on Route 9 South in Manalapan. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Nichol Wilson, a 36-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of Jackson, NJ, was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where it was later determined he had a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Jersey City Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00. Mr. Wilson was processed and released after being issued summonses and being released on his own recognizance by the Jersey City Municipal Court. Patrolman Douglas Zike was the arresting officer.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Vincent Visconi, a 26- year-old, unmarried, male, resident of Jackson, NJ, who is employed as a chef, was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Visconi was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal complaints regarding this incident. The suspect is described as a white, male, approximately 30-years of age, wearing long pants and a t-shirt, was captured on video surveillance. No items were reported missing from the building. 18MN24792 Fraud On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at approximately 3:37 p.m., a 73-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor purporting to be a representative for Premium Tech Support claimed that the victim had to pay back money through gift cards for a previous service in exchange to receive money back into their bank account. The victim exchanged Best Buy gift cards in the amount of $4,000.00 to the unknown actor and was unable to contact them back after the transfer. Residents are reminded that this type of incident is an ongoing scam and are requested to not send or transfer money in the event that they receive a call of this nature via the telephone. Patrolman Peter Bylsma was the 18MN24586 Shoplifting Arrest On Monday, September 24, 2018 at 3:30 p.m., Judith Russo, a 57-year-old, married, female, resident of Freehold, NJ, who is employed as a teacher, was arrested for shoplifting $74.10 worth of merchandise at Wegman s Supermarket, located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan after concealing merchandise and attempting to exit the business without rendering payment. Ms. Russo was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being issued a summons. Patrolman Matthew Meyler was the arresting officer. 18MN24539 Theft of Motor Vehicle On Monday, September 24, 2018, at 3:03 a.m., Patrolman Brian Cruse responded to an Applegate Terrace residence to assist East Orange Police in locating the registered owner of a vehicle located in their jurisdiction. Upon speaking to the registered owner/victim, a 31-year-old Manalapan resident, it was discovered that the vehicle in question had been stolen from his driveway sometime between 10:00 p.m. the previous night and 2:00 a.m. that morning. According to the owner the key fob had been left inside the vehicle. East Orange Police took possession of the vehicle until it could be processed for evidence and returned to the registered owner. Johnson, a 22-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, female, resident of Leesburg, VA, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the North Brunswick Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750.00. Ms. Johnson was processed and released after posting bail.
