Valedictory cum prize distribution function 25 th June 2016 at 10 am To be communicated The purpose of this competition is to provide youth an opportunity to share their passion for Islam and the Qur an through their Qiraat, Azaan, Naat and Calligraphy. The participants will compete with each other with positive attitude, and will also bring a sense of unity and appreciation for one another. This competition will also provide the participants and all institutes a platform to build strong connections and promote collaboration. The competition is open to the University, College and Hr. Secondary Schools of Kashmir Division including our satellite campuses. The event is scheduled to be held at Gandhi Bhawan from 22 nd to 25 th June, 2016. In this connection, it is requested to nominate one best student of your Department / Institution / College in each category to participate in the said competition. Date 22 nd June 2016 Time 10:00 a.m Annexure I HUSN-E- NAAT COMPETITION Rules, Regulations and Marking Criteria 2. Any Naat can be prepared by participants (but care should be taken that the recitation of chosen Naat must be in Urdu / Kashmiri / Arabic.) 3. Naat should not be based on musical lyrics or its tune should not be matching any song. 4. Participants will be given a fixed time (approx. 5-6 minutes to each participant). 5. If the participants fail to finish in the dedicated time limit, there will be negative marking. 6. A bell will be rung after the first five minutes indicating that they should wind up their task and another bell will be rung after 6 minutes after which participants will have to stop whether they have finished or not. Generally, marking criteria will be based on following: a) lyrics b) talaffuz or pronunciation c) Confidence in delivery; d) Beautification in voice and tone; e) Overall delivery 7. It is a solo event. You cannot work in a team of 2 or more. 8. Any misbehaviour or violation of rules would lead to the disqualification of the participant. 9. The decision given by the judge would be final. Nobody has the right of challenging the judge s decision. 10. The winner of the First, Second and Third will be awarded a cash award and certificates. 11. The competition will start at 10:00 am sharp. All participants must report at least 30 minutes before the starting time. 12. Slots are limited so be sure to register early 13. Students must stay until the end of event in order to be counted present. 14. Always show utmost respect to the person(s) leading and taking part in the competitions, along with your fellow participants. 15. Anexure-III ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION Rules, Regulations and Marking Criteria Date 24 th June 2016 Time 10:00 A.M The Division of Youth Affairs, Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir is proud to conduct its first calligraphy competition. The purpose of this competition is to revive and promote the classical art of Islamic calligraphy. Thus, it aims to encourage young artists of Islamic calligraphy to produce works of this healthy invigorating art. A selection of the art works from the competition will be first displayed Insha Allah, at the Valedictory cum Prize Distribution Function and later on DSW website. 1. Participants can demonstrate any word/ayah in their calligraphy skills. 2. The style of calligraphy dimensions, colours and other raw materials are at the discretion of the student. 3. Lines must be straight, forms must be consistent. 4. Neatness of finished work, neatness of ink density. 5. General proportioning (layout, proportion, balance, margins etc.) 6. Successful integration of personal embellishments, and symbolism. 7. The winner of the First, Second and Third will be awarded a cash award and certificates. 8.
