Biblical Puzzles and Activities for Children (Ages 7-12) Rosh Chodesh: Nisan The Case of the Two Donkeys in the road and said, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the LORD! The disciples still didn t understand. Why the donkey? Why two donkeys? This sounds like a mystery for the disciple detectives. Clue Number One: Let s examine the witnesses. Read Luke 19:28-37. How did the disciples get the donkey? It was Passover time. The Master and his disciples had travelled on foot all the way from the Galilee to the holy city of Jerusalem. As they were about to come down from the Mount of Olives, the Master decided he didn t want to walk any further. He told the disciples to go find him a donkey to ride on. The disciples were curious. Why did the Master need a donkey to ride on? He had already walked for many days to get to Jerusalem. Now, when Jerusalem was only a short walk away, only about an hour more, he decided he wanted a donkey. And not just one donkey. He wanted two donkeys! How can a person ride on two donkeys? The disciples found the donkeys, and brought them back to the Master. The donkeys did not have saddles, so the disciples laid their cloaks on the donkeys backs. Yeshua climbed onto one of the donkeys and sat down on the cloaks. Then he began to ride down the hill and toward the city of Jerusalem. As he did, crowds of Passover pilgrims saw him coming. They knew he was the Messiah. They began to lay their coats and palm branches Clue Number Two: The disciples did not understand why Yeshua wanted to ride on a donkey, but later, they did understand. Read John 12:12-16. When did they understand? Clue Number Three: Read John 12:16 again. What was the thing written about Yeshua that the disciples understood later? How did the prophet say that Zion s king would come? Look inside Color This Page and submit it To www.ffoz.org/eroshupload We ll Choose 3 WinneRs each MonTh and post TheM on our Web site.
