He promises to give us all that we need. When we trust that God will take care of us, it is easier for us to share what we have been given. Please remember in your prayers the sick, homebound and disabled of our parish family, all those listed in the parish book of intentions, and all the men and women of the Armed Forces. As an initial step in this spiritual effort, you are invited to share in the Discovering Christ experience; a time of study and practical application of the teachings of Christ to your ongoing life with Him, and the development of a deeper personal friendship with Him, by means of well-prepared presentations, reflections, and fellowship. Take this opportunity to join your brothers and sisters in faith for the first of seven Thursday evenings beginning on January 17 at 7:00 PM with dinner in Shepherds Hall. You can register online or directly through a member of the Discovering Christ team available in the narthex before and after the celebration of the Eucharist. December 16, 2018 RCIA WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? Today s gospel offers an interesting exchange between John the Baptist and the multitudes who have come out to hear him. Who are these people? What are they looking for? They are ordinary people, looking for words of comfort, searching for answers to the riddles of life, hoping to find joy in the midst of everyday hassles. They are inquirers. John tells them about the one who is coming who will bring a peace beyond anything they can understand. If you know someone who is searching, like those early inquirers in today s gospel, invite them to an RCIA inquiry session. Inquiry sessions do not assume a commitment to join the Catholic Faith family. Inquiry sessions are opportunities to ask questions about God, Jesus, and the Catholic Faith family. All who are unbaptized, baptized into another faith denomination, or baptized Catholic but have not received Eucharist or confirmation, are invited. Inquiry sessions are for those who wish to inquire, explore, and search for ways to grow in relationship with God. Call the Parish Office at 908-647-1075 to be put in touch with a member of the RCIA team. http://olmwarren.org/rite-of-christian-initiation-of-adults Wishing you and your family a joyous Christmas! If you are visi ng us for the first me, we welcome you, and invite you to return! If you are seeking a faith family, please call the Parish Office at 908-647-1075 and we will be happy to tell you more about our Catholic faith. Have You Married a Catholic? The Assembly may not schedule a vote on the bill until January 31, 2019. The proponents of the bill are pushing for the Senate to schedule a legislative hearing in early to mid-january so they can also schedule a vote in the full Senate on January 31st, so right now it is critically important for you to please call and/ or email your two (2) Assembly Members and State Senator to urge them to Vote No on A1504/ S1072. Please do this even if you have contacted them previously. You can call the Office of Legislative Services at 1-800-792-8630 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to obtain the names and phone numbers of your two (2) Assembly Members and State Senator. You can also search for your Assembly Members and State Senator by visiting the New Jersey Catholic Conference website (NJCC) at http://njcatholic.org/ Most importantly, please pray fervently that this bill will be defeated.
