November 13, 2014 Organic Outreach Intensive Training Welcome to the Organic Outreach Conference and Intensive, It is hard to put into words the sense of awe and wonder I feel concerning the group gathered for this year s Intensive Training. We have leaders from as far away as New Zealand and as close as Carmel-by-the-Sea. We have local church leaders, regional leaders, and national leaders. We have people who are learning about Organic Outreach for the first time and others who are already using this model to train leaders in their circles of influence. I believe God has gathered this year s group for this unique moment in the history of the Church. Please take time to meet other leaders. Share a meal together. Use our private gathering areas in the back of our room for connecting. Exchange contact information and make a friend and partner in ministry. One of my greatest passions is to work with brothers and sisters in Christ to accomplish God-honoring things. What would delight our Savior more than us praying for each other, loving one another, and strategically working together to fulfill His Great Commission? I want you to dream with me. Dream of every Bible believing, Christian Church being deeply committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus with their community. Dream of churches having evangelism integrated into every aspect of their ministry and not an isolated department, committee, or team. Dream of countless people meeting Jesus, the Savior, face-to-face as we reach out in organic ways. God is ready to make this dream a reality. Let s prepare ourselves to be part of His gracefilled movement in our churches and the world. For the glory of Jesus, Kevin G. Harney

What does this say about the importance of discipleship? How can we help people grow to love the Church, Christ s body? Why can churches go so long without focusing on outreach when other things seem to hit our radar much more quickly? Why is it critical that we see outreach as the ministry of every believer and that we lead our ministries accordingly? How have you seen good programs fail because the heart of the church was not right?

Organic Outreach Intensive Training

Organic Outreach Intensive Training Shoreline Community Church Organic Outreach Influence Team Full Team Meeting (Year 3, Quarter 4) Thursday, November 13, 3:30 Preparing for this meeting Reading: o Organic Outreach for Churches (Pages 137-153) The Two-Degree Rule (review). o Organic Outreach for Churches (Pages 176-180) Outreach Intensity Levels (review). Prayer: Ask for God to help every ministry at Shoreline to keep vectoring outward and making intentional connections with people in our community that are far from Jesus. Personal Action: Review the action item on page 153 of Organic Outreach for Churches. Think of one or two ways you can promote an existing ministry you lead in ways that will connect with people who are still not part of the church or followers of Jesus. We will discuss these ideas at our meeting. Meeting Agenda Meeting Focus and Learning Theme: In this full team meeting we will turn our attention to one of the key themes of Organic Outreach: Vectoring much of what we do outward beyond Us to those in our community who need to connect with Jesus and His people. We will also review the levels of outreach intensity and talk about how our outreach events are impacting people with the Gospel. Opening Prayer Read: Matthew 28:16-20 Prayer Focus: For each of our lives and ministries to keep pushing outward with the gospel. For the other churches in our community to be effective and intentional about outreach in growing measure. A Minute to Share It What is your personal outreach temperature right now? What is your ministry outreach temperature right now? What is one way you can raise your temperature in the coming week? Bonus if you have an outreach story to share, take a couple extra minutes. Outreach Learning Teaching Theme: The Two-Degree Rule

Organic Outreach Intensive Training Video: The Two-Degree Rule The Power of Vectoring? Notes: Discussion: Share a new way you intend to vector an existing ministry outward with greater intentionality. How can we vector outward more effectively with big events like the Halloween Party, Thanksgiving Eve Night of Worship, Christmas Concerts, Christmas Eve Services? What gets in the way of us vectoring out with our various ministries? Teaching Theme: Outreach Intensity Levels Level 4 - Direct presentation of the Gospel with clear next steps. Level 3 - Sharing the Gospel and connecting people to conversations of faith and bridges that will move them forward. Level 2 - Acts of love and service that show the heart and presence of Jesus and open the door to relationships and organic sharing of the gospel (we are looking for opportunities to pray, share, and walk with people toward Jesus). Level 1 - Acts of love and service that show the heart and presence of Jesus and connect people to the local church (for next steps). Discussion: What level would you say the Commitment Sunday was three weeks ago? How can we strengthen this? What level would you say the Halloween Party was? Is this the right level or should we intensify it? Ideas? What level should the Christmas Concert be and how can we be intentional about how we connect people to Jesus on some level? Remember, no outreach event or ministry is a level 0 Group Discussion and Collaboration

What is coming up in the next six months that is church-wide (all hands on deck) outreach? Who is leading the event (what ministry owns it)? How can you work together (What will each ministry team do, how will they fully engage?) How can you pray for this event? What is coming up in your specific area of ministry in the next three to six months that is focused on outreach? How can other ministry leaders and teams support you and help you bear great kingdom fruit? How can we all be praying for you? Closing Prayer: Pray together for More vectoring of our ministries. More effort in raising the outreach intensity level where it need to go up. * No Preparation for December, we have the month off. Tom will send an agenda for January. Outreach Learning Teaching Themes: Praying with People. Video: Praying with People Notes: (When some shares a great joy or a deep need ) Discussion: Tell about a time you prayed for someone who did not yet have a relationship with Jesus.
