PARISH INFORMATION 3 LITURGY OF THE WORD Liturgy of the Word is special liturgical offering to our young friends of Jesus during the 9:30 a.m. Mass each Sunday. When the congregation is preparing to listen to the readings and the Gospel and homily, the children (ages 3-10) are invited to come forward to meet a catechist who will process with them to the Reconciliation Room for a time of prayer and hearing the readings and Gospel in language they can more easily understand and identify with. The children receive a pamphlet to take with them to share with their family. Presently we need more volunteers who would prepare a lesson every few weeks and lead the children. Would you like to pray about this invitation? Would you be willing to share the story of Jesus with our young parishioners and visitors? If so, please call SISTER SUSAN 708-865-8086. PARISH INFORMATION 2 4 Dear People of Divine Infant, As I promised, I m letting you know where I m being assigned. I just heard that I ll be going to Divine Savior in Norridge. I m familiar with the area and the parish. I was in their cluster when I was stationed at St. Gertrude in Franklin Park. My great aunt, who was a nun, taught in Divine Savior School and lived in the convent back in the early 1960 s. With my family, I visited there as a kid. The pastor is a classmate of mine, whom I ve known since the early 1970 s. I appreciate my time with you. I thank you for your hospitality and support. My time with you was short, but I have to say, that I enjoyed being you priest very much. I rate my time with you as some of the best I ve known. GRIEF SUPPORT We welcome you and your family to join us for our Grief Support Gatherings which will occur the second Tuesday of each month. These groups are intended to be social in nature where we can express our support with others that are experiencing the same feelings. We know how losing a loved one affects the core of each family. Whether the passing is sudden or after a long battle with illness, each soul has a story. And everyone has their own way of coping with such a loss; sometimes, we don t know how to start finding a way through the fog of emotions and despair. The emotional pain experienced soon after the death of a loved one can be overwhelming. Getting through the day can be a major undertaking. The last thing on your mind is rebuilding your life. In fact, doing so might bring up feelings of guilt, sadness, and anger. At some point, these feelings will start to subside and laughter will emerge. If you re at a point in your grief recovery where you re thinking about rebuilding your life, then this discussion is for you. Share your experience as well as learn practical ways to create a life that is different but also equally meaningful.
