And in Sussex we are supporting: Diocesan Family Support Work (FSW); St Cuthman's Light Centre on the Whitehawk estate, Brighton; and the Horsham Churches Together Projects. At St. Mary s Our Caring as a Fellowship. In Sussex: For all who will receive food parcels from the Light Centre this week. We pray that they will be helped towards being able to meet their own long term needs for food and other essentials. In the wider world: For the development of trust, co-operation and friendship within the community served by the Light Centre. TODAY Lighthouse November bookstall at the font today to give you some recommendations how your family celebrate Advent and Christmas. Buy Advent candles, books and stocking gifts, especially the Real Advent calendar: a traditional advent calendar with a high quality Traidcraft chocolate stars behind each of 24 windows, the 25th window contains a storybook of the First Christmas, 3.99(Cash and cheques). Tuesday 25th November 7pm: Mothers' Union meeting. The speaker is our own Helen Crooks who will be telling us about her work with disabled children and adults. All items should be taken to the Church Office or church no later than Sunday 7 th December, ready to be delivered to the Light Centre on Monday 8 th December. A big THANK YOU to everyone who braved the rain to attend Little Footprints last Friday - together we raised 120 for Children in Need! Little Footprints is St Mary's Baby and Toddler group - we run on Fridays during term time 10-11.30am at the Barn ( 1.50 per family) - all pre-school children and their carers are very welcome! Stewardship Envelopes these have been bundled up in to street order and put at the back of church - please would you take a street and hand deliver the remaining envelopes to our church family? DEC Emergency Ebola Appeal - DEC member agencies are heavily involved in the response to this crisis. Those with the relevant specialist medical expertise, notably the Red Cross and Save the Children, have set up or are seeking to establish Ebola isolation and treatment centres. We are collecting via our emergency appeal envelopes available in the pews in church. Please give generously and pray for all those affected. Appeal closes 30 th Nov. Family Support Work Christmas Toy & Gifts collection: In November we are collecting toys and gifts to send to the local children and families that we support in Sussex. Please donate good quality items to the church office or pop them into the crate at the back of church.
St Mary's Christmas cards: We have two new designs with our selection of cards. These are on sale in packs of 10 for 3.50 at the back of the Church and in the Church Office. It has been stressful but I am here, surrounded by boxes. The people at St. Mary's Church, Conwy, were very friendly and welcoming at the Remembrance Sunday service. The parade and service at the memorial were very similar to those at Horsham. I miss Horsham, but if anyone finds themselves up this way please do drop in. You would be very welcome. One of the highlights of the Bazaar is always the arrival of Father Christmas this year he will be visiting Warnham at 10.30am and again at 1pm. Throughout the day there will be children s activities including a chocolate tombola and a Lucky Dip as well as stalls selling toys and children s books. The Friends Evenings of Swinging Jazz, Saturday 17 th January 2015 and 14 th March both at 7.45pm in the Church Centre. Tickets 14 in advance only, to include fish and chip supper available from the church office. A Pilgrimage to Greece 9th 18th May 2015 led by The Very Revd. Geoffrey Marshall, who has led trips to Jordan & Egypt and Israel with a number of people from St. Mary s. The Pilgrimage is run by McCabe Travel and is a journey through Greece with St. Paul on his 2nd and 3rd missionary journeys, visiting Thessaloniki, Philippi, the Meteora Monasteries, Delphi, Corinth, Athens and other places. The cost is 1,695 on a half board basis. Brochures are available from the Church office. If anyone decides to go, please give your name to the Church Office, because taxis might be able to be arranged to and from the airports.
