Greetings from Bishop Herbert & Lady Dawn Crump Greetings in the mighty, majestic and matchless name of Jesus the Christ. Lady Dawn and I, along with the Unity Pastors of Nassau Bahamas would like to express our sincere appreciation for your sacrificial presence and participation during Calvary Crusade 2018. We believe this time of worship and fellowship will continue to strengthen the Kingdom connection God has established through The Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America and our Bahamian brothers and sisters in Christ. Through the powerful preaching from our Presiding Prelate, Arch Bishop Alfred A. Owens Jr., and International First Lady, Co-Pastor Susie Owens, along with the soulful singing from Psalmist Jonathan Nelson, Lady D Shondra Perry and Lady Yolanda Rolle, we are anticipating a life changing, spirit filled revival to occur in hearts, minds and souls that will empower us to continue our efforts in reflecting the soul saving light of Calvary in a dark and sin filled world. Thank you all for supporting Calvary Crusade 2018, the best is yet to come! Bishop Herbert & Lady Dawn Crump
A Brief History of Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. Bishop Brumfield Johnson was the founder of this great church. Bishop Johnson was a young, spirit-filled minister who was associated with the United Holy Church of America and served as pastor of the church in Summit, N.J. In 1928, Bishop Johnson and Elder Robert Pugsley traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C., to conduct a revival. Approximately 250 persons were saved at the revival, and many of the new converts desired a church home shepherded by Bishop Johnson. The Winston-Salem church officially was incorporated in 1929 as Mount Calvary Holy Church of America. Bishop Johnson continued the work started in Winston-Salem. During a conference in 1929 in Summit, 20 ministers joined him. Bishop Johnson then traveled with an evangelistic team to Huntington, Long Island, New York, where a great revival was held and many were blessed, healed and saved. This led to the establishment of the Mount Calvary Holy Church in Huntington. Bishop Johnson and his fledgling group of ministers then traveled to Boston, Mass., where they adopted the Mount Calvary Holy Church principles. It was there that the church was chartered on July 27, 1929, with the following persons signing the charter: Bishop Brumfield Johnson, Bishop Lee R. Ligons, Rev. Van T. Pope, Rev. William Bryant, Bro. Augustus A. Granville, Josephine M. Spencer, Sis. Bessie L. Lipscomb and Sis. Nancy Hall. In the early 1930s, Mt. Calvary began to spread her wings as churches were planted in various cities across the country, including Staten Island, N.Y., Durham, N.C., and Columbus, Ohio. The first headquarters was established in Baltimore, Md., and later located in Buffalo, N.Y.,
in 1942. The headquarters then was moved to Boston in 1960 after the Buffalo church was destroyed by fire. The National Convocations were held in Boston until the International Headquarters was established in Washington, D.C., in 1991. On Feb. 15, 1972, Bishop Brumfield Johnson went home to be with the Lord. Weeks before his death, Bishop Johnson appointed Bishop Harold Ivory Williams to serve as his successor. Bishop Williams led the church for more than 37 years as Senior Bishop. Under his leadership, Mt. Calvary grew to include churches in more than 15 states and countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. On Aug. 14, 2008, Mt. Calvary entered into a new season of ministry as Bishop Williams chose to take emeritus status and to elevate his spiritual sons, Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr., and Bishop Hansel Henry, to the offices of Presiding Bishop and Executive Vice-Bishop, respectively. Bishop Owens became the third Presiding Bishop in the 89-year history of this great church, and Mt. Calvary is now looking forward with great anticipation to all that the Lord will continue to do. In the words of our Founder: Let the heavens drop, let the skies pour out righteousness, and let the Earth bring forth salvation.
