The Prayer of Confession (In Unison) God of pure, unbounded love, we are a people who long to be loving and too often fail. Our words bite and sting and cause each other pain. Our actions hurt ourselves and our neighbors. Forgive us, Lord. Guide us in your compassion and your grace. Help us to go the second mile. Teach us to love our enemies and our friends, through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen. The Sermon Heart Matters Rev. Merry Meloy The Hymn #480 Have Thine Own Way, Lord (Sing to the Lord) The Church Responds *The Affirmation of Faith - Apostles' Creed (In Unison) I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. The Prayers of the People and Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. The Offertory Invitation All that we have and all that we are is from God. In gratitude for God s mercies and many blessings, let us bring before the Lord our tithes and offerings. Please sign and pass the Friendship Registers located near the center aisle. Thank you! The evening begins at 5:15 pm every Wednesday and includes bells, music, dinner, a Bible lesson, and more! Bring a friend and come! A Request from Some of Our Younger Members As many of you know, during the school year, we meet on Wednesday evenings for KICK. After a long day of school, some of us have only a few minutes to stop at home before we come to church for a full evening of chimes, music and a Bible lesson. Some of us don t have time to go home at all. So we love being able to have dinner together in the Memorial Room. Sharing a meal and fellowship is one of our favorite parts of KICK and that s why we need your help! Could you feed us one Wednesday evening during the school year? That's right... FEED US! We aren't hard to please... chicken nuggets, hot dogs, corn dogs, and mac and cheese are always a hit. We LOVE breakfast for dinner. Pizza (frozen or delivery) works too. Throw in a beverage (and sometimes even a treat) and dinner is served. It need not be fancy, just something warm to fill our hungry tummies! A sign-up sheet is available in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Merry or talk to any of our moms. On a typical Wednesday evening, there are 8-10 children. Dinner is served at 6:15 pm. Thanks so much for your love, support, and most of all your prayers for us as we grow as Christians. We feel blessed to call you all our church family! The KICK Kids
