The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rick Hardesty. Pastor read from Mark 12:28-37, followed by prayer. The minutes from the last meeting were read and a motion made to approve, followed by a second; motion carried. Bob Zimmerman read the treasurer s report with a balance of $82, 575.67. With no objections, the report was approved as read. The council was informed that the Country Companies agent was impressed with the improvements made by installing a video camera and temperature sensors in our church and fellowship hall. A discount in the insurance premiums will be considered by the company. Pastor s Report Pastor Deen has accepted a vacancy call to St. Paul s Sadorus. He also accepted a call to St. John s Buckley as a religion teacher at their parochial school. His last service at Immanuel Osman will be the Thanksgiving Service on November 22nd. Pastor thanked the committee who planned the Reformation Fest and Pastor Appreciation event. Pastor Ehler s will fill in for Pastor McPike one Sunday in December. The council was informed of a used Hinners pipe organ located at a Catholic church in Peoria. Comments were expressed concerning the longevity of Immanuel Osman compared to the replacement Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 cost of an organ. Discussion then followed on prioritizing our needs. It was suggested that the church set aside a small amount each year for organ replacement. Approval of a summer vicar will be discussed at the next Voter s meeting. Sunday School Superintendent Report Connie Warsaw reported in Annette Warsaw s absence. The Sunday School students will be filling Operation Christmas Child boxes on Sunday November 8th. The offering from last summer s VBS and two Thrivent Action Team grants in the amount of $250 each will be used to fund this project. Religious items will be included in these boxes that are sent to third world countries. Shipping charges are $7 per box and taken from the Thrivent Action grant money. Jeff Warsaw made a motion to give our monthly Mission Giving to Operation Christmas Child. Steve Martin seconded; motion carried. Trustee Jeff Warsaw informed the council that the flush value on the urinal in the men s restroom needs replaced or repaired. A plumber from JC Heating and Cooling is being consulted. Elders were informed that they should arrive at church by 8am each Sunday morning in order to heat/ cool the church and fellowship hall before Sunday School and Church. Diana Zimmerman made a motion to ask Steve Warsaw to get the Christmas tree to the church by the first Sunday in December. Shane Zimmerman seconded; motion carried. Steve Martin brought up three concerns: a leaf guard on the gutters on the north side of the church, garbage pick-up at the church, and a new faucet in the women s restroom. Discussion followed. Jeff Warsaw made a motion that a new faucet be purchased for the women s restroom; Diana Zimmerman seconded;

motion carried. Steve Martin was asked to purchase and install the faucet. Bob Zimmerman will look into the cost of garbage pick-up from Knight s Disposal out of Mansfield. Bob Zimmerman made a motion to table the topic of ceiling fans till next year. Jeff Warsaw seconded it; motion carried. Discussion continued on setting up scaffling and cleaning an area on the inside ceiling of the church or hiring professionals to clean the area. Topic was tabled. It was suggested that Thrivent Action Grants be applied to future events at the church such as another Reformation Fest or to improvements on the church such as the ramp. It was suggested that music needs be taken out of the Norma Homann Memorial Fund. A donation to Immanuel Loda in Pastor Allen s memory was tabled till next meeting. The emergency call list was discussed. Connie Warsaw will give additional numbers to Debbie Lammle so she can update the list. Next year s budget was then discussed. Lutheran Ministries from Concordia Theological Seminary produces "Worship for Shut-ins". It airs locally on WCIX-49 Sunday mornings at 7:30 AM.

Osman spreads cheer to Shut-ins Several faces lit up as the Immanuel Lutheran Choir, led by Alicia Haggin, sang Christmas carols to our shutins, and others in the Colfax Nursing Home and Meadows at Mercy Creek Assisted Living. We also visited Jeri Bidner at her daughter s home in Mahomet. Pastor McPike read the Christmas story at each of the five locations. To conclude the evening, the group enjoyed pizza together, thanks to Thrivent Action Grant monies, applied for by Brenda Hendricks. Our largest group ever (27 members and families) enjoyed spreading the joy of Christmas during this holiday season. Thanks to all who attended this annual event!

We feel so humble at the show of love and concern that was shown to my mother, Frances Zimmerman, during her final fight with cancer. Thank all of you for the cards, monetary gifts, flowers, food, paper goods and everything else you knew we would need and wouldn t think about. Mom would have been happy with all the great food that was served at her funeral dinner especially the pies which were her forte! We so appreciated everything that was done for her and our family at this sad time in our lives. Bob and Diana Zimmerman & Family "I wish it hadn't happened" but - God has been good to me - I have had very little pain and recovery has been fast. The therapists (a dedicated group) had been helping at least twice a day - I could not hide from them. My family organized and some of them were there much of the time. Gary missed only a couple of times being there in the morning when I woke up. You, my church family, sent so many well-wishing cards that my room was decorated with them. I have enjoyed them so much and now that I have landed in John and Cheryl's resort, I am again reading all the cards. I will be so glad to be back with you at my church and listening to Pastor's wonderful sermons as only he can deliver them. Thanks Pastor for your visits and prayers. Jeri To the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mahomet Helping Hands wishes to thank you for your generous donation of $150.00. This money will allow us to purchase a substantial amount of food for our monthly giveaway serving 70+ families. Your help is very much appreciated. Sincerely, Mahomet Helping Hands Thank You! To all for your gifts, good wishes, and cards this Christmas season. Your generosity continues to be very heart-warming. Pastor McPike and family A special thank-you to Jim and Sue VanWakeman, Gene and Dorothy Welborn, Brenda Hendricks, Rick and Jill Hardesty, Don and Connie Warsaw, Bill and Moneta McCleary, Roy and Annette Whitehouse, Butch and Shirley Sprau, Leonard and Christie Delaney, Lee and Sandy Whitehouse, Neil and Beth Bidner, Skinner and Joy Johnson, Eric and Harry Henriksen, and Larry and Esther Lutz for donating a poinsettia for the Christmas season. You may take your flower home after service on January 3 rd or before if you wish. Thanks again! The children included Megan Bidner, Addison Warsaw, Reese Gallier, Jack Gallier, Jenna Clemmons, Melia Warsaw, Linnea Warsaw, and the confirmands, Will Delaney and Mitchell Gallier. We appreciate the time and energy involved in preparing for this annual program! Thanks to Shirley Sprau and Debbie Lammle for visiting the shut-ins this month.
