LIGHTHOUSE: Addressing today s issues with Biblical Truth What it Takes to Raise a Christian Child in a Country Ruled by Moral Confusion Natasha Crain recently blogged about this topic. I would like to highlight some of the main points. First, it means we must proactively teach our kids how to think critically about the nature of morality unlike the world around them. The fact that our culture is upset by somebody else s moral conduct but not their own is hypocritical and confusing. Second, it means we must teach our kids why there is good reason to believe the Bible is true. Our kids won t have any reason to base their moral understanding on God s Word if they don t have the confidence that it s accurate in the morality it teaches. Third, we must give our kids experience applying their moral understanding to the social issues at the forefront of discussion today. Walk through the issues with your kids. Fourth, it means we must help our kids develop a willingness to boldly stand up for their beliefs. They must use this Biblical morality to be a light in this dark and confusing world. If there are topics you would like discussed from a biblical perspective, please feel free to contact me through email at mbailey@strong-rock.com.
