The Prelude *Chiming of the Hour *The Call to Worship (Based on Psalm 146) Joy comes to those who hope in God. For the Lord is a Keeper of promises. Our God is a God of healing and help and hope! The Lord will reign forever, Our God will keep faith with all generations. Let us praise the Lord both now and forevermore! *Hymn O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing UMH 57 The Opening Prayer Gracious God, draw near to us with compassion, touch us with healing, and speak to us with love, so that we may arise and live to spread the good news of your saving power; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Welcome and Announcements The Children s Message (Canned Food Collection Sunday) Time of Sharing and Prayer Celebrations of God s Grace and Prayer Concerns The Pastoral Prayer/The Lord s Prayer (UMH 895) *Hymn Have Thine Own Way, Lord UMH 382 Prayer for Illumination Holy God, enlighten us by your Holy Spirit, and reveal yourself to us, that we may hear your word and proclaim your good news in the world. Amen. The New Testament Reading Galatians 1:11-24 p. 1751 The Gospel Reading Luke 7:11-17 p. 1553 This is the Word of God for the people of God.

Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ. The Message We are Sent by Christ The Receiving of God s Tithes and Our Offerings The Response: In the Lord, I ll Be Ever Thankful (2x) In the Lord, I ll be ever thankful, in the Lord I will rejoice! Look to God, do not be afraid. Lift up your voices, the Lord is near, Lift up your voices: the Lord is near. *The Doxology (UMH 95) *The Prayer of Dedication: Lord, may others glorify you because of these offerings, given in Jesus name. Amen. Invitation, Confession, and Pardon Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [All pray in silence] Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! All: Glory to God. Amen. The Service of Holy Communion UMH 13 *Hymn This Is a Day of New Beginnings UMH 383 *The Charge and Blessing: Beloved, you were set apart before you were born. You were called through God s grace. Go out now in joy and with your lives proclaim this Gospel! And now, may the Lord bless you, keep you, and enfold you in love. Amen.
