Trinity Lutheran shares office and worship space with St. Paul's Episcopal and Mary of Magdala Ecumenical Catholic Community, as partners in ministry. Together we are better, as we share the ministry that God has given to us in the place and time. We are grateful for our partnership together, accompanied by the joys and challenges of living under the same roof. Thanks to God for this opportunity. We believe we are not a complete community, and that God is calling new people to join us and to find their place at Trinity. So, how can you learn more? Visit our website at www.trinitylutheranfc.org or contact our pastor for a chat. We invite you join us on the journey of faith! Trinity is a welcoming faith community living together in God s love to share the joy of Jesus Christ. Guests and Visitors: A special welcome to you from Trinity s pastor and congregation members. We pray that this worship will bring you comfort, joy, and renewal. All are invited to receive the bread and wine of Holy Communion. If you have any questions about the worship service or about Trinity, our Hospitality Team members (at the Welcome Desk or identified by name tag) are happy to help. Your offering is your presence with us in community. We encourage you to fill out a welcome card and place it in the offering plate. Please join us again! Parents and Caregivers: Please know that God s children of all ages are welcome in worship. Younger kids are invited to bring one of our specially-prepared busy bags into the worship service along with crayons. Both are available in the narthex as you enter the sanctuary. If you wish to step out with your child at any time, there is a special room just outside the worship space where you will be able to view and hear the service. If you prefer, we also offer a staffed Nursery. Children cared for in the Nursery are brought into worship for the Youth Message. Special needs: Hearing-assistance devices, as well as gluten-free wafers and grape juice for Communion, are available during our services. Holy Communion can also be brought to the seats of those with mobility trouble. Our Hospitality Team members can help with any of these special needs. *BLESSING* P: The love of God surround you; the grace of Christ release you; and the Holy Spirit be your guide and strength, now and forevermore. P: Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God, who calls us into an everlasting hope, who guides us to springs of the water of life, who enlightens us with the spirit of wisdom. C: P: One with the communion of saints in all times and places, let us confess our sin against God and one another. Silence for reflection and self-examination. MESSAGE *SONG OF THE DAY* Pastor Rick Love Divine, All Loves Excelling ELW #631 Verses 1, 3 & 4 *PRAYER OF THE DAY* C: Limitless God, you call all sorts of people, in all times, in all places, to speak prophetic words to your people. Speak through us, young girls, and old men, through quiet whispers and shouts of praise, so that we may learn to love one another, honor you, and follow King Jesus, who rules the nations with hope, promise, and peace. *APOSTLES CREED* I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. *PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE* A: Lord in your mercy, C: Hear our prayer. *SHARING OF THE PEACE* P: The peace of Christ be with you all. C: And also with you. CHILDREN S MESSAGE MUSICAL OFFERING In Christ Alone Keith Getty & Jodie Burgoon, Soloist Stuart Townend GOD S STORY Jeremiah 1:4-10; 7:1-11 Prophetic call as warning; temple as den of robbers Chapter 1 4 Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." 6 Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy." 7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a boy'; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD." 9 Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth; and the LORD said to me, "Now I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant." Chapter 7 1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah, you that enter these gates to worship the LORD. 3 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your doings, and let me dwell with you in this place. 4 Do not trust in these deceptive words: "This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD." 5 For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly act justly one with another, 6 if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own hurt, 7 then I will dwell with you in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your ancestors forever and ever. 8 Here you are, trusting in deceptive words to no avail. 9 Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, make offerings to Baal, and go after other gods that you have not known, 10 and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, "We are safe!" only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your sight? You know, I too am watching, says the LORD. SONG OF RESPONSE TO GOD S WORD I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light ELW #815 A: The word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God. - 6 - - 7 -
