Co-President Jeff Porada thanked Dick and Nancy for hosting. (applause) Minutes were approved. Treasurer Cindy Loos gave a Membership report. Dues of $65 are due by January 15, 2019, to make it into the national annual directory. Because we are a 501(C)7 organization we received a small tax refund and several new memberships. Cindy paid for the expenses for the bonfire, September Roundup and other miscellaneous expenses. Scott was reimbursed for the Dropbox activation. The club will subsidize the cost of the Christmas party this year, so each member will pay $10/person. Cindy passed around a listing of the club s balance sheet to let everyone know our typical income and expenses. There was extensive discussion around delivering 14 copies of the minutes to members who don t want electronic copies. Possibilities: Printing a shortened version with no pictures or just B/W pictures. Discussion was tabled until January. Activity Activator Skip Jackson passed around a box of club business cards for anyone who might want some. He also showed a car badge from a land-speed run in a 1954 Healey. No one wants to fly to Deadwood for Conclave 2019. Skip asked everyone to suggest activity lists for the next calendar year. Mary Ann Grabow said the Christmas party will be held at the South Hills Civic Center on December 8 th, time TBD. Cost for each member is $10 in advance and $15 at the door on the day of the event.. This event is BYOB or soft drinks since only tea, coffee and water will be supplied with the buffet dinner. Gift exchange as usual with a limit of $20. Tech Director report by Richard Pratt. Eric Fisher valve adjustment will be set up in the next couple of weeks. John Parrott wants to schedule a transmission inspection. Skip needs to have his MGA water pump replaced, as well as several other items. Historian John Parrott asked for anyone that has any pictures of the club to add into the archive. Scott announced that two emails will be sent about links to the Dropbox. This will allow members to access pictures or contribute pictures to the club. Judy Chamberlin led a discussion about a group that she and Bill are involved with that brings youth together from multiple religions to expand their knowledge of the other religions for the purpose of promoting tolerance and peace through positive relationships. There was an extensive discussion about whether the club should donate money to this group, or any group. No real decision was made but it was decided that we would address it again after the first of the year. A motion was made and seconded to donate $500 but it was tabled. It was decided that a $500 donation would be made to the David Kreuter Memorial Scholarship Fund. Cindy cut the check. President Jeff thanked our hosts, Dick and Nancy for hosting. (applause) He then adjourned the meeting. http://ohiovalleyahc.com Submitted by substitute OVAHC Secretary, Dick Sippel

Off Road Adventure Although not an official OVAHC event, the open house yesterday, noon to 4 pm, at Zakira s Garage was a wonderful car show. Five members of OVAHC were there; Don Butler, of course, had his beautiful restored BRG BJ8 inside, as did Dick Sipple and his Bugeye Sprite. Chris Wolfer drove his Sprite, top down, to the Mariemont garage from Kentucky, reporting that it ran great. Tim and Bobbi Ross were there in their dirty BJ9 (Miata). There was an incredible variety of vehicles both inside and outside the shop most in Concours condition. Calendar 2018 December 8..Christmas party at Ft. Rainy Day at Drivers Training Ode to the last OVAHC Drivers' Training of 2018 by Annoy da Mouse The day was damp and dark clouds filled the skies. There were three lovely ladies, and twelve gung ho guys. It appeared we were surely just out of luck! But then Don Klein arrived in his trusty ol' truck. (he actually was in a VW bug but that ain't a rhymin' with luck!) He got out and stretched, he shook his tired bones, He set a very fast course with very few cones. Seven cars' tyres screamed, and spun in the lots, and nine intense drivers, gave their best shots.][ Jeff Porada and Dale B, Don Kelly and Klein, took off then shifted, and made the gears whine. Nate and grand daughter Delaney, both drove so fast, but the better time, we all know, went to the lass! (Don't hate me Nate for rattin' ya out, dats what I do, ok?) Gayle Loos, and Elroy they had quite a ball. But our hero, Gene Allison, he beat them all!!! So this year is finished, we all had our fun. Next year will be your turn, won't you come out and run?
