Peter T. Campon Council 206 136 Park Ave. Binghamton, NY 13903 www.kofc206.org kofc206@gmail.com GRAND KNIGHT S MESSAGE Brothers First, I would like to thank our new financial secretary Chris Welch and all the other volunteers who made our Turkey Party a smashing success. We net over $800. The ladies auxiliary ran a great bake sale, earning them $100 which the Council 206 will match. This money will go towards BHS s Thanksgiving dinner. There are a number of significant dates to remember. 1. November 6th is Midterm Election Day, please get out there and vote!!! 2. Our memorial Mass will be on November 7th at 6:00 pm, the Mass will start at 6:30 pm. 3. November 22nd is Thanksgiving. Given all that is happening in the world it is even more important to take the time to reflect and give thanks with family and friends.
4. We are giving our Trivia Knight another try on Friday November 30th. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the game starts at 7:00 pm. Please join us for an evening of fun and enjoy the satisfaction of giving to our Coats for Kids Program. The coats have been purchased and will be donated to The Family Enrichment Network. We will also start selling religious themed Christmas cards at Bingo. In addition, we will hang a Keep Christ in Christmas banner on the building, if it ever starts raining. Lastly, we will donating turkeys to Catholic Charities, date and time to be determined. Yours in Christ Dan Strano, Grand Knight FATHER COREY S CHAT The month of November again offers opportunities for many graces and blessings. We begin on November 1 celebrating All Saints. The great saints we all know, and those living eternal life because of their holiness lived quietly and not necessarily formally canonized; parents, teachers, friends, all interceding for us at the throne of God. Remember we have an obligation to attend Mass on that day. November 2 is All Souls Day, our own feast where we pray for souls preparing for heaven, those suffering and all desiring to live more Christlike lives so as to be worthy of heaven. Thanksgiving, although a secular holiday, is a reflection of our whole faith life. Our faith, worship and Christian way of life is centered in thanksgiving. Our Eucharist is itself a sacrifice, a meal of Thanksgiving. I pray you have loved ones to be with on this beautiful, grace filled day.
May the whole of November be a blessing to you and all your loved ones. May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love! Fr.
