The Pastor s Corner Hello Everybody, The Bodylife, June 8, 2017 Last week here at Byfield we had the privilege of hosting a memorial service for Margery McGlew, she was a member here a few years back. Her husband, Bob, served as a pastor here for awhile. As I was sitting in the memorial listening to various family members and friends share their memories of Margery I was struck by the sort of testimony her life was to all she came into contact with. At some point, there will be a day where each of our lives is remembered. We should all hope to have the impact for God s Kingdom that Margery had. This impact was not because she had a position of great authority or because she will be written up in the history books. Margery s impact came through loving those people that God brought into her life. I suspect that many who are more well known than Margery ever was in this life will find less of lasting value to show for their efforts than Margery will on the final day. This coming Sunday is Youth Sunday. That means the service will begin at 9 AM with a picnic to follow later in the day. I am excited to see how our younger folks lead us. I have no doubt they will do an awesome job. As a church, our job is to prepare the next generation to lead. Leading worship is an opportunity for them to be shaped for the future. It is also an opportunity for us as individuals to consider how we are investing in them. We all have a responsibility to build God s Kingdom not just maintain it. The youth we have been blessed with is an opportunity to do just that. In Christ, Brent Church Family:

WEDDING CEREMONY: Dear Church family, you have been an important part of our daughter Kasey's life as she has grown and matured during the years. Betty is having surgery on her neck at 7:30 am tomorrow. **At Hope Community Church in Newburyport, six-year-old Ellie, has a cancer, called neuroblastoma. Ellie is currently undergoing chemotherapy and other aggressive treatments to help her battle this disease. She is being treated at Boston Children s Hospital as well as Dana Farber. It is being asked that we pray for Ellie and her family, believing that our Heavenly Father can heal little Ellie completely and rid this cancer from her body. MISSIONS The yellow envelope is for contributions to our Faith-Promise Missions budget. What is Faith-Promise giving? The believer looks to the Lord in faith asking how much He would have the believer give; then the believer in faith promises to give as the Lord directs. Here at Byfield Parish, our mission budget is administered completely separate from our general administrative budget. Using the yellow envelope designates money that you want to go toward missions. All monies not designated by envelope or check memo will be put toward the general fund. His Provision, If you find yourself with left over veggies, meats, soda's, etc. His Provision will gladly accept them to share with our guests any Wednesday. Please speak to either Pat Harkins, Dick & Bea Boucher or Sue Daigle for more information. Sue's number is 978-771-0208 Thank you. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
