Gathering around God s Word Prelude Partita on If Thou but Trust in God to Guide Thee Georg Böhm Welcome and Call to Worship Leader: Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. People: Your word is our heritage forever, the joy of our hearts. Leader: Let us worship God. *Hymn 264 When in Our Music God Is Glorified engelberg x *Opening Prayer Fred Cassell Prayer of Confession Patient and persistent God, we come, polished and presentable, to this comfortable room as if we knew what to expect, as if this were a safe and predictable place, as if we could simply observe. Holy One, forgive our tepid expectations. In the mystery of your love, overshadow us. Plant the seeds of your gospel in each of our hearts until we bloom and spill with your passion to serve in a world that is wasting. Amen. (silent confession) Kyrie (Hymnal No. 565) Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Declaration of Pardon Leader: Friends, believe the good news of the gospel. People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Call to Faithfulness Leader: As God s own people, be merciful in action, kindly in heart, humble in mind. Be always ready to forgive as freely as God has forgiven you. And, above everything else, be loving, and never forget to be thankful for what Christ has done for you. *Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. Prayer for Illumination Proclaiming God s Word Jan Lewis

Piano Donation Needed The Worship & Music Committee is seeking a traditional (nonelectronic) piano for use in the blended worship space. If you have a piano in good condition that you would like to donate, or if you would like to contribute toward the purchase of a piano, please contact Dee Bergan at dtbergan@verizon.net or 972-809-0247. Thank you for your support and prayers! Help With the Apple Tree Project The Community Outreach Committee is again sponsoring the Apple Tree Project at St. Andrew. The citywide project, coordinated by Interfaith Ministries, helps needy children throughout Denton receive school supplies, shoes, and school clothing for the start of school each fall. At St. Andrew, the Apple Tree Project will begin on June 8 and continue through mid-july. You can help in 2 ways: (1) Donate money through the church offering directed specifically to the Interfaith Ministries Apple Tree Project, or (2) sponsor one child by selecting an apple from the apple tree in the Narthex and buying clothing for him or her. Information and Community Outreach members will be available in the Narthex each Sunday to assist you. We have 50 children to sponsor this year. Hope you will help.
