Saint Thomas More Patron of Religious Liberty July 2, 2017 OUR PRAYERS RISE LIKE INCENSE This summer, Seton Sunday is offering a weekly prayer related to a ministry in our parish or diocese with companion materials in a perforated, pull-out flyer on the last inside page. This week, we offer a guide about How to Talk about Religious Liberty from the annual Fortnight for Freedom. Have a prayer to offer? Send to communications@steas.net or drop in the Communications Team mailbox at Connections Corner. Litany for Liberty Christ the Lord has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Let us turn to him in humble but fervent petition, seeking the grace to root out from our hearts all trace of darkness, and all that holds us back from walking in the full freedom of the children of God. As Christ is our great model for that inner freedom, which enables us to do the right, let us turn to him with confidence that we, too, may follow him to the fullness of spiritual freedom. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. J esus, vic tor o ve r s in and dea th... Free our hear t s. J esus, so u rce o f light a nd ho pe... O God, who gave one origin to all peoples and willed to gather from them one family for yourself, fill all hearts, we pray, with the fire of your love and kindle in them a desire for the just advancement of their neighbor, that, through the good things which you richly bestow upon all, each human person may be brought to perfection, every division may be removed, and equity and justice may be established in human society. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen. United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

SHALL WE DANCE It s not a question, it s an invitation! (And even if it were a question, the answer would be Absolutely! ) You can purchase tickets this weekend and next at Connections Corner or in Menniti Hall. Only $8 per person. Come celebrate the 40th anniversary year of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish with a dress - up dance on Saturday, July 29. Join us for food and a social time at 6. At 6:45, popular local ballroom dance instructor Col. Frank Hancock, of Hancock Dance, will offer nearly an hour of instruction (call it a refresher if you re already experienced!). Then, on to the dance floor! For ages 12 and up, alcohol-free, and a great chance to get together with the parish family and friends! Open to all. Visit our website at www.steas.net/ dance for details and videos. Sponsored by American Heritage Girls and our Columbiettes. See you there! BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED. Whether you have lost a spouse, child, sister, brother, mother, father, friend, or some other important person in your life... whether it was last month, months ago, or years have passed... if you are still mourning in ways that hinder you from having joy in your life, or seeing friends--this ministry is for you and your family. The ministry is based on the Ave Maria Press materials of author M. Donna MacLeod, RN, MSN, nationally recognized for her work in bereavement ministry. Seasons of Hope offers the bereaved an opportunity to come together to share in God s love. With the support of our faith community, we can give voice to our unique journeys of grief, and find healing and spiritual growth. Seasons of Hope helps us explore mourning through Scripture, prayer, reflection, and faith sharing. It is centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in the healing wisdom, traditions, and practices of the Catholic Church. Jesus Christ, working through His Church, is the source of all consolation. SCHEDULE: Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the Bayley Conference Room. Introductory session on July 20, followed by six regular sessions from July 27 through August 31. CONTACTS: Ernie Nettleton, 717-766-8806, enettletonjr@gmail.com, or Donna Nebistinsky, 717-697-6929, donna@steas.net. ZUMBA MORNING CLASS! Nancie Hart will be offering a Zumba Fitness Class here on Tuesday, July 4, at 9:30 am in lieu of the regular Tuesday evening class. Open to all! Drop-in fee of $5. ONLY TWO MORE WEEKENDS TO DONATE! Our parish is joining other area churches, businesses, and community organizations to help South Central PA families who struggle financially to prepare their children for the start of school. A "tent event" will be held July 29 on the grounds of Northern High School to help provide school supplies and other products that meet basic needs. This year, our parish has been asked to help supply shaving cream and disposable razors for the Grocery Tent. These do not need to be name-brand products so when you are doing your own shopping at a discount store, look for house brands! Drop off your items in the food collection bins located in the narthex and Hertzler Road entrances. These are the same bins we use for New Hope; we'll just pull out the shaving products. Thank you! SPONSOR OF THE WEEK We wish to thank MESSIAH LIFEWAYS for sponsoring an ad in our weekly bulletin.
