Pimlico in Words and Music On the 11 July, as part of the SouthWest, we held a soiree in our church to celebrate Pimlico through the ages with a rich diversity of readings and music. Thank you very much to all of you who sang in the Westminster Community Choir and those who read exciting stories. These included, to name a few: Pimlico Pavilion by William Thackeray; Pubco Pub in Pimlico by Michael Hall; Sunday Poem: The Pride of Pimlico by Arthur Griffith; and Frightful attempt to murder, Pimlico. The heavy rain that battered on our windows during the event will no doubt have created the right atmosphere for the readings in particular of the attempt murder and the Pimlico poisoning. Unfortunately, that also meant that not so many people were adventurous enough to soldier into our church through such tempest. For those who made it, thank you very much for your generosity and we hope you have enjoyed every minute. Family Film Day Thursday 3 August 2017 The Pimlico Foundation will be running a family film day at our centre at 2pm. Community Sunday A kids film will be shown with popcorn and soft drinks in the Monk Room. 20 August 2017; then on the last Sunday of the month In the meantime, parents will have the opportunity to enjoy We are aiming to outreach more people in our community a break and a nice chat over some tea and coffee. and, therefore, we will start having a BYO picnic lunch in the If you are planning to bring your children, please let Ian know by emailing him on ian@pimlicofoundation.co.uk. centre that will take place on the last Sunday of each month from 12pm to 1.50pm, prior to the Silver Screen Showing. Exceptionally, in August, the lunch, which will be the first one of our Community Time, will take place on the 20 August at midday and will include our farewell to Nate. This event will also include games and fun for families, so please let your friends and neighbours know about it. 4
