MUSIC NOTES Anthem: Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; Praise the Lord with the harp; Make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre, Sing to him a new song; Play skillfully, and shout for joy! Sing Joyfully to the Lord by Peter Hamlin Commissioned by First United Methodist Church In honor of the 160 anniversary of the Chancel Choir and Jonas Nordwall s 40 years as the organist By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, Their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; He puts the deep into store houses. For he spoke, and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm. Alleluia! From heaven the Lord looks down and sees All human kind; From his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth. He who forms the hearts of all, Who considers everything they do. We wait in hope for the Lord; the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Sing joyfully to the Lord; Amen. Offertory: With a Voice of Singing by Martin Shaw With a voice of singing declare ye this, and let it be heard, Alleluia. Utter it even unto the ends of the earth. The Lord hath delivered his people, Alleluia. O be joyful in God, all ye lands, O sing praises to the honor of his name, Make his praise to be glorious. With a voice of singing declare ye this, and let it be heard, Alleluia. Utter it even unto the ends of the earth. The Lord hath delivered his people, Alleluia. Jonas Nordwall
