PRAYER GUIDE 2016-2017
Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ Thank you in advance for praying. The fact that you are reading this means that you are an intercessor. You willingly go before the Father on behalf of others, in this case teenagers and the adult missionaries to those teenagers so that young people may come to know God the Creator as their Father through Jesus Christ. Listen to what the Apostle Paul said to the Ephesians in chapter 6:18-20: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." His request through this letter to the Ephesians and therefore by proxy to us is that we should pray a lot, for a lot of different things, and for a lot of people! But I think the words that grab me most are "Pray also for me". Paul reveals his view on prayer related ministry, that he depends on others to pray to God on his behalf for his ministry to be effective. And so it is with a grateful humility that I thank you for praying on behalf of teenagers and on behalf of us as we are desperate to have words given to us to fearlessly make known to teenagers the mystery of the gospel and desperate for said teenagers to become one of the "Lord's people". Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites Axis Ministry Meeting Times Vary throughout the week April Hart ahart@yfcmp.org - that God provides direction for this ministry - for continued awareness to the post high school aged young adult - for God to provide financially for the ministry - for boldness and courage in sharing the Gospel Canonsburg Campus Life, the Armory Meeting Times Tuesdays at 7:00 pm JR Gardner jrgardner@yfcmp.org - that volunteer leaders are trained and equipped to run the ministry effectively - for the partnership and collaboration of the local churches, schools and community organizations - for God to use this ministry to reach lost teenagers and introduce them to a relationship with Jesus - for God to use this ministry to disciple all students who come to know the Lord - for our mentor program to launch and powerfully impact our community and at-risk students

Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites South Fayette High School Campus Life Meeting Times Wednesdays at 7:30 pm Andrew Barney abarney@yfcmp.org - for one additional male leader to enter the ministry this fall - for the students in our student leadership program, that they would prioritize their relationships with Christ - that God would continue to provide for the ministry financially - for more underclassmen to become connected to the ministry South Park Campus Life Meeting Times Mondays at 7:30 pm (HS), Tuesdays at 7:00 pm (MS) Dan Dlugos ddlugos@yfcmp.org - that our relationship with the churches in the community continues to grow and flourish - that God would raise up a team of leaders who are excited about bringing the Gospel to the community - that students and their families would be connected with local churches as a direct result of their involvement in Campus Life

Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Teenagers Please pray for teenagers: - to recognize the lies of the enemy - to be humbled by their sin and see a need for their Savior - to repent and find their hope and salvation in Christ alone - to be filled with joy and peace by the indwelling power of Christ in them - to live and speak courageously for the cause of Jesus Christ Pray for Student Trips Please pray for: - a large group of unsaved kids to attend each trip - Christian students to bring and share Christ with their non-christian friends - physical safety and spiritual protection - excellent preparation and personnel to execute the plan - the power of the Holy Spirit to drive programming and NOT vice versa
Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Volunteer Leaders Please pray for volunteer leaders: - that the Lord of the Harvest would send more laborers into the fields - with a capacity or proclivity for relationships with teenagers - who aren't afraid or judgemental of the mess that surrounds a lost soul - who are passionate about the Gospel as the only redemption for brokenness - who themselves are abiding deeply in Christ and ministering to teens out of the overflow of God's power and presence in their own life Pray for Board of Directors Please pray for our current members: - Mike Whitehead, Chair - LaVonne Franjione - Perity Timm, Vice Chair - Bob Kiebler - Larry Diday, Treasurer - Roger Zelt - that they would be prayerful and humbly seek the Lord for His direction - that the Holy Spirit would equip them with wisdom and inspire their decisions - that they would lead the organization with the right mix of faith and strategic thinking - that their hearts would be passionately motivated by the mission to lost teenagers - that God would add 3 more to this team this fall
Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Office/Development Please pray for Office/Development: - to support and trust one another and grow together as a team - for clear, honest and intentional communication - to continue to fine-tune our systems to maximize efficiency - for our office to be a place of inspiration, encouragement and creativity for all of the staff and those who visit - to achieve a high return on investment of the hours they work - to love the mission of reaching kids for Christ and see clearly their connection to it in support of the ministry staff - to effectively engage the community in sharing the need for this mission by telling the story of lost kids coming to Christ - in generating awareness among more churches and local businesses of our mission and work in Pittsburgh - to hold successful events that bring in the funding that is needed to reach more teens - to gain favor in the eyes of foundations who will award grant money to help fund more ministry to teens
