! Building cost US$2,500,000 For the purchase and renovation of a New building in Central Tokyo

Total Jewish population in Tokyo: 2,500 Percentage of Jewish people without synagogue participation in Tokyo: 95% Japan is a prime destination for Jewish business travelers, (e.g. 10,000 Israelis visited Japan in 2007.) No mikvah in Tokyo (Starting March 2008). No kosher restaurants. No daily minyan.

Hebrew School For the numerous Jewish children in Tokyo. Adult Education Educating a whole new generation of Jews from all backgrounds. Shabbat and Holiday Meals Inspiring home-made dinners for the unaffiliated. Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation Performing Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for unaffiliated families. Special holiday events For adults and children, on every Jewish holiday. Jewish family events Bris, Bar/Bat Mitzvas, weddings, etc.

Current Status of Chabad House: The existing Chabad House is a simple 3 - bedroom Japanese style house with very limited space for functions. The number of visitors has been steadily increasing, and the local community is Baruch Hashem becoming more active, putting a strain on the limited space of the Chabad House. Dining room can only accommodate 20 people, and we regularily overflow into the kitchen. The office area/shul can only accommodate about 20 people (standing-room only). School space is not adequate for number of children currently enrolled. Requests for kosher meals-to-go have been increasing, and the simple Japanese kitchen at the house is not adequate to keep up with this demand. On average, more than 200 people attend our holiday programs, outpacing our existing budget for event space.

Location The new center is located in central Tokyo, in the Shirokane Takanawa district, an area rich with hotels of all prices, and near the popular areas of Roppongi, Azabu-Juban, and Shinagawa. Hebrew School The 2 highly skilled teachers and current 40+ children will have the necessary space and resources needed for a fully functional educational environment. Expansion to up to 40 more children

Synagogue With the new building we will have a centrally - located synagogue that can accommodate over 100 people, for both locals and travelers, with Shabbat and daily minyanim, and a Jewish library. Celebrating the simcha of a new Sefer Torah Shabbat & Holiday Meals Over 100 people will be able to attend Shabbat and festive holiday meals.

Mikvah We are planning a beautiful mehudar mikva, built with a serene Japanese theme to attract many potential users. Kosher Restaurant A new Kosher Jewish / Japanese restaurant, a must for Jewish life in Tokyo. Holiday Programs Ability to host our popular holiday events at the Chabad house, instead of paying very high rental fees for 3 rd party venues. Our Chanukah event

The potential of the new Chabad center is limitless Join our efforts to keep Chabad of Japan moving forward and going strong. Play a significant role in bringing the joys of Jewish life to the far ends of the world. Fulfill the mitzvot of educating our children, building a mikvah, providing a welcoming place for davening, offering kosher food, and of course, giving tzedakah! We are launching an immediate call to action We have just signed the contract for our new building, and need to raise funds as soon as possible. We are estimating an initial move in date of March 2008. We are estimating the beginning of construction of upgrades and renovations for new facilities in May 2008.
