My Vow I do solemnly vow before the Lord that I will uphold the doctrines, teachings traditions, holy canons, worship and principles of the Coptic Orthodox Church I will faithfully and sincerely hold the duties and obligations required of me as a Sunday School Servant; I will follow the curriculum we are using to teach I will be committed to serving God s children this coming year; I will do my best to be there every Sunday unless working, travelling or ill I will be preparing the lesson whether I m teaching it or not. I will take attendance at my class and visit/call children who missed more than one week. I will be attending the general servants meeting and the family meeting. I m committed to serving you Lord, and I thank you for this honor Page 2

Servants Guidelines & Expectations Respect the time of Sunday School Class, classes should start on time 12:15 PM and end between 1:00 and 1:15 PM (depending on the age). If we respect the time we will teach our kids to do so also. Attending Servants meeting every other Sunday, 1:30 PM is required for servants to allow better collaboration on how to serve our kids and to function as a team. The meeting focus will be part spiritual growth for the servant and part administrative for Sunday school activities and how to better serve our kids. If for any reason you are not able to attend please let Abouna and/or Nader know. Attend your Sunday school class even if it is not your turn to give the lesson. Follow the Southern Diocese curriculum http://www.suscopts.org/ssc/ Prepare your Sunday school lesson early in the week, give yourself a chance to continue improving the lesson during the week and avoid preparing the night before. Cursed is he who does the work of the LORD deceitfully (Jeremiah 48:10) Every Sunday school servants (and their students) are responsible for keeping the class clean. Servants are to take attendance weekly. Visitation and follow up by phone, email or text messages are very important. Have a father of confession and regularly go to confession. Come to church early and remember that you are an example to those whom you serve. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth (John 17:19) Page 3
