Music: William Harris (1883-1973) Entrance Hymn - Sung by Ye holy angels bright Hymnal - 475 THE ORDER OF MASS In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with thy spirit Almighty God, unto whom all hearts be open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit that we may perfectly love thee, and worthily magnify thy holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord; and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Lord have mercy upon us, and write all these Thy laws in our hearts, we beseech Thee. Collect for the First Sunday after Trinity s

Collect for the Saints Day O Almighty God, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and fellowship, in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord: Grant us grace so to follow thy blessed Saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those unspeakable joys, which thou hast prepared for them that unfeignedly love thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Amen. Old Testament Lesson They shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. Isaiah 66 v. 2-23 Gradual Psalm REJOICE in the Lord, O ye righteous : for it becometh well the just to be thänkful. Praise the Lord with harp : sing praises unto him with the lute, and instrument of tën strings. Sing unto the Lord a new song : sing praises lustily unto him with a good cöurage. For the word of the Lord is true : and all his works are fäithful. He loveth righteousness and judgement : the earth is full of the goodness öf the_lord. Ps. 33 v. 1-5

New Testament Lesson I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth, and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed; and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand, of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders, and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, saying, Amen; Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 7 v. 2-12

Gospel Acclamation The saints shall judge the nations and have dominion over the people : And the Lord shall reign for ever. The Gospel The Lord be with you: And with thy spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew: Glory be to thee, O Lord. Jesus seeing the multitudes, went up into a mountain; and when he was set, his disciples came unto him. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peace-makers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5 v. 1-12 This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to thee, O Christ.

Sermon The Rev d Dr Peter Anthony Vicar of St Benet s, Kentish Town Nicene Creed - Sung by

Intercessions

The Sub-deacon leads the congregation in the intercessions for the Church and the world. The response to each bidding is Hear our prayer. Confession The Celebrant invites the people to confess their sins, kneeling: Ye who do truly and earnestly repent you of your sins, and are in love and charity with your neighbours, and intend to lead a new life, following the commandments of God, and walking from henceforth in his holy ways; Draw near with faith, and take this holy Sacrament to your comfort; and make your humble confession to Almighty God, meekly kneeling upon your knees. Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things, judge of all men: we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, by thought, word and deed, against thy divine majesty, provoking most justly thy wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent, and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them is grievous unto us; the burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; for thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ s sake, forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please thee in newness of life, to the honour and glory of thy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Celebrant pronounces the Absolution Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who of his great mercy hath promised forgiveness of sins to all those who with hearty repentance and true faith turn unto him; Have mercy upon you; pardon and deliver you from all your sins; confirm and strengthen you in all goodness; and bring you to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Peace The peace of the Lord be always with you. And with thy spirit.

Offertory Sentence - Sung by the Choir O God, wonderful art thou in thy holy places, even the God of Israel, he will give strength and power unto his people, blessed be God, alleluia. Offertory Hymn - Sung by Who are these like stars appearing Prayer over the Gifts Hymnal - 231 Pray, brethren, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable unto God, the Father almighty: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at thy hands, for the praise and glory of his Name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. The Celebrant prays a Collect. reply: Amen The Eucharistic Prayer The Lord be with you. And with thy spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up unto the Lord. Let us give thanks unto our Lord God. It is meet and right so to do. The Proper Preface follows, which leads into the Sanctus and Benedictus: Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra Gloria tua. Hosanna in Excelsis. Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, Heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory be to thee O Lord most high. At the conclusion of the Eucharistic Prayer all sing: Amen.

The Lord s Prayer - Sung by As our Saviour Christ hath commanded and taught us, we are bold to say: Invitation to Communion Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him that taketh away the sins of the world: blessed are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my soul shall be healed.

Communion Sentence - Sung by the Choir The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God: and there shall no torment touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die, but they are at peace. Distribution of Communion Please come forward to kneel or stand if you are unable. The Church of England welcomes communicant members of all Churches who have been baptized with water in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, to receive Holy Communion in faith, hope and charity. If you would like to receive a blessing, please fold your arms when approached or carry your order of service with you. If you would like to make enquiries about baptism or confirmation, or preparation to receive communion, please contact one of the clergy. During the Distribution of Communion, the Choir sing a motet: O quam gloriosum est regnum, O, how glorious is the kingdom, in quo cum Christo gaudent omnes in which all the saints rejoice with Christ! Sancti! Arrayed in white robes, Amicti stolis albis, they follow the Lamb, wherever He goes. sequuntur Agnum, quocumque ierit. Communion Hymn Let all mortal flesh Post-Communion Prayers Please stand Music: T L da Victoria, (c 1558-1611) Hymnal - 295 The Celebrant prays the Post-Communion Prayer: Almighty and everliving God, we most heartily thank thee, for that thou dost vouchsafe to feed us who have duly received these holy mysteries with the spiritual food of the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; and dost assure us thereby of thy favour and goodness towards us; and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical body of thy Son, which is the blessed company of all faithful people; and are also heirs through hope of thy everlasting kingdom, by the merits of his most precious death and

passion. And we humbly beseech thee, O heavenly Father, so to assist us with thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all such good works as thou hast prepared for us to walk in; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen. Almighty God, we thank thee for feeding us with the body and blood of thy Son Jesus Christ. Through him we offer thee our souls and bodies to be a living sacrifice. Send us out in the power of thy Spirit to live and work to thy praise and glory. Amen. Blessing and Dismissal The Lord be with you: And with thy spirit. The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, establish, strengthen and settle you in the faith; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be amongst you and remain with you always. Amen. Go in the peace of Christ: Thanks be to God. Recessional Hymn For all the saints Hymnal 197, vv 1-6

The Angelus The Angel of the Lord brought glad tidings to Mary: And she conceived by the Holy Ghost. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen. Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it unto me according to thy word. Hail Mary And the word was made flesh: And dwelt among us. Hail Mary Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Music: attrib. Philip Ursell (sometime Principal of the House) The Priest then recites a Collect to which all respond: Amen. Organ Voluntary Please either leave quietly, mindful of those around you who may wish to stay and pray/listen. Or remain seated for the Organ Voluntary.
