WE ARE ONE BODY, THE BODY OF CHRIST Dear Mercy Families, I hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer. As we begin preparation for another awesome year at Mercy, I took some time to reflect on last year. All things considered (New Principal, two first year Assistant Principals and Counselors and my stroke), we had an awesome year. I cannot thank all of you enough for your prayers and support during my health issues. With your prayers and God s grace I have made a 100% recovery and eagerly anticipate the challenge of the new school year. My vision for our school has not changed. We will continue to work to improve the educational component and the spiritual growth of our students. Our theme this school year is, We are one body, the body of Christ. God calls each of us to play our part within our community. We have been tasked with being the hands and feet of Jesus. I would encourage everyone this year to work together as the body of Christ, allowing our actions be a witness to our children and the community, as we help to build God s kingdom. Ms. Monsour and Ms. LaBorde are poised after a year of experience, to continue to challenge our faculty and students to reach their full potential. Our goal is to always Exceed Expectations - always working to do things better. As always, thank you for partnering with us in the education of your child. Although I have a new location this year, in the lower school, my door is always open to listen and discuss any concerns you may have. My goal is always to work with you to provide your child with the best chance of success. I look forward to seeing everyone on campus, volunteering whenever possible. Thank you in advance for your gifts of time, talent and treasure. Please keep our staff and school community in your constant prayers, as we work each day doing God s work. God bless, Mr. Christopher T. Porche Principal BATON ROUGE, LA 3

Our Lady of Mercy has nourished the spiritual life of so many parishioners and those throughout the Diocese who come here. A Memorial Gift to our Traditions for Tomorrow Building Campaign is a wonderful way to acknowledge the lives of our beloved dead with a gift of loving generosity to the church that has been such a spiritual home.
