Grand Knight: Greetings Brothers! Deputy Grand Knight: Michael Cousino What a wonderful Full House, the installation banquet was. About 2 months ago I was not a person that asked for help or direction. But, when I realized how much work there is to prepare for this council year. I became worried and asked for help and direction from the previous officers. I received a lot of excellent advice, from a score of officers. Thank you all. But, isn t that what the Knights are all about? Helping others. That s when the Full House idea became real. A group of Catholic men sharing ideas and experiences, working together on Church and Charitable projects, wouldn t it be wonderful if the Knights of Columbus had more Knights on their roster? The Full House idea starts with recruiting more members. This would allow the Knights to give more time to charities. This time would give us the opportunity to demonstrate our unity. This unity would give us the opportunity to be more fraternal. THIS IS the very essence of the Knights of Columbus! A Full House, I believe, will be a dynamic and successful council. So I am proposing the following goal; The Knights of Columbus want to ask every eligible parishioner to become an active member of the Knights. We do NOT want to hear, I have never been asked! Communication is the key, so I am declaring an open door policy. If you have any ideas or concerns about Full House or, if you have someone I should talk with, please call. The officers of this council will be more effective with the support of this parish. We also have applications at the back table, if you would like to take one with you. In closing, I would like to thank, all the Council officers and directors that have made a commitment for this year. This will be a challenging year and I appreciate and thank you for your dedication. Finally, I am asking Knights of Columbus brothers, their families and Parishioners to join us, on this quest, to help us recruit and to make this Council the best we can be. Thank you and God Bless. I have been a Knight since October 1985. I received my First Degree through Council 6726, Hanahan-Goose Creek, Second and Third Degrees at Council 7469, St. Joan of Arc in Yorktown, Virginia. I was exemplified into the Fourth Degree in February 2008 and an active member with Msgr. Richard C. Madden Assembly 1900, Summerville. I have previously held positions as Inside Guard, Recorder and Warden (interim), and the Purser with Assembly 1900, soon to be installed as Captain. Lynn and I have been married for 35 years and are parishioners at Immaculate Conception since 1981. We have three adult children; Patrick, Sarah and Miriam and six grandchildren all residing in the Goose Creek area. I have remained actively involved in the parish as Eucharistic Minister, and Minister of Hospitality, and I anticipate great success for the Council this year and I strongly encourage ALL of our Knights to get involved! Many hands make for light work and we have much work to accomplish this fraternal year particularly by improving membership, not necessarily by numbers but by member dedication. I ask that all of us share our time and talents to actively support the various Council, parish and family activities. As the motto of Grand Knight Russ Whited states, let's all make Council 11991 a FULL HOUSE! If you are a Knight, be a Knight! Vivat Jesus Michael Cousino, DGK Russ Whited, GK office 725 6117 fax 725 2853

EXPOSURE: After taking office I have noticed that many Knights do not wear their name badge when they go to Church or attend a committee meeting at the Church. I m asking ALL Knights to wear their name badge: Tthis includes Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, Committee members, Officers, Directors, Deacons, Priest, and the Council at large. All a Knight has to do to be considered an active Knight 12 hours a year reading the weekly church bulletin, the state and local council communicator and the Supreme Council magazine, the Columbia. 2 hours a year volunteering at a council at a event of their interest. 2 hours a year attending two council prayer services with their family. 2 hours a year on a council sponsored family project or event. 2 hours a year attending one council meeting, if it is a good meeting they will attend more. 4 hours a year attending a council social function with their family. Once you have explained the time commitment to a prospect be sure that you have a Form #100 handy so that you can sign him up while you have his attention or you will lose him. Carry a Form #100 in your wallet at all times. Second Degree Schedule - 2011-2012 POC: RONALD G.
