Theo is a familiar friend that preschoolers look forward to! He gets children ready to hear the Bible story. Make it True Theo THEO: Hi kids. I have a special friend named Theo. Let's knock on his door and see if he's home. (Knock on box repeatedly.) Hmmm. He's not answering. Let's listen." (Snore loudly) A boat Use this time with Theo as a large group activity. To say goodbye, mention to the children that they can air high five, Blow kisses to Theo, or just wave goodbye. Remind them if they would like a hug later you can do so during snack, wrap up or closing activity, "Oh no! Theo's asleep. Should we wake him up? (Pause.) Okay, great! On the count of three 1..2..3...Wake up, Theo! THEO: Hi boys and girls! I m so glad you re here today. (Walk around with Theo and let him greet each child by name, giving them a hug/kiss/high five.) Would you like to guess what is inside my box? I ll give you 3 clues. Okay, Theo, let s guess what s inside your box. CLUE #!: it floats in the water. CLUE #2: you sit inside it. CLUE #3: it helps you get around on a lake or in the ocean." EVERYONE: "It s a boat." THEO: "You're right! It s a boat. (Hold up the boat) I love playing with boats, don t you? "Yes, that s great, Theo. Hey guess what? Our Bible story today has a boat in it too. THEO: Oh yeah, is it a boat like mine? Not exactly, Theo. There s a big BIG boat in our story today. Would you like me to tell it boys and girls? THEO: A big BIG boat? How cool I can t wait for you to tell this story! Bye, bye boys and girls. EVERYONE: Bye, Theo. I hope you re feeling great today. If you re feeling great say, A-okay! An apple A-okay! Red clown nose Bunch of red roses Red toy fire truck Box to hold these items HOST: I m so glad! I m feeling A-okay myself because all month long, we ve been taking a closer look at some amazing colors that God has made. What a COLORIFIC month we ve been having! Let s see if you can figure out what THIS week s color is. Let s see (pull out apple from the box), can you tell me what this is? An apple! HOST: Yep! It s an apple. Apples are SO yummy especially this time of year. Okay, what is this? (Pull out the clown nose and place it on nose.) A clown nose. HOST: Yes! It s a clown nose. These things are hilarious! What about these? (Pull out the bunch of red roses; smell them.) So pretty! These are my mom s favorite flower. What are they? Roses! HOST: Yes it s a beautiful bunch of roses. You know, roses come in all different colors, but THIS one is probably the most popular. Okay, last one. (Pull out the fire truck.) It s loud, and when people need help, it comes to save the day. What is it? A fire truck! HOST: You got it! It s a fire truck. I think fire trucks are the coolest things ever. Okay, now for the big question. What color are all of these awesome things?

Bible Make it True Bible story STICK story- Hello, friends! Come sit here with me. Today s true story from the Bible (hold up Bible) is about a guy named Noah. What was his name? (Hold up Noah) Story props bin: o Noah o Ark o Animals Noah! Awesome. One day, God told Noah to build a really, really, REALLY big boat called an ark. He had never seen a boat that big before. But Noah trusted God and built the ark just like God told him to. So let s pretend we re like Noah building that ark. Quick, everyone cut the wood like this. (Move your arm in a sawing motion.) Now let s hammer in some nails like this. (Move hand as if pounding in a nail.) Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap. Great job! There, Noah s all done building. Everyone clap for Noah! (Lead children to clap.) (Hold up the ark) Now, I wonder what God wants to put inside. Do you know? (Pause.) Believe it or not, God wanted Noah to fill the ark with two of every animal one boy and one girl. Hey, what s your favorite animal? (Pause for responses. Stand up.) Mine walks around like this. (Hold up the animals) (Walk like a penguin.) What am I? (Pause.) A penguin! Stand up and make these animal sounds with me. Let s see, what about an animal with a trunk like this? (Wave arm from mouth like an elephant s trunk and make a trumpet sound.) An elephant! Okay, what about the one that has all the hair around it s face and sounds like this? (Roar like a lion.) Make it True Bible story STICK story- A lion! Noah gathered two of every animal so many animals. Okay, guys, can you help Noah get them on the boat? Everyone say, Animals on board! Animals on board! (Put the animals on a stick down) Great job. After all the animals were on board the ark, God told Noah to get his family and to go inside the ark, and then God closed the door. And that was a good thing, because it soon began to rain! Pat your hands on your legs like this (pat your legs) to make a rain sound. At first, it was just a few drops of rain. But there was more. (Pat legs faster.) And more and more. (Pat legs even faster.) Okay, you can stop patting. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights until the WHOLE world was covered in water. Noah and his family were kept safe on the ark, though, because Noah believed God s promise. Even when we say, WHAAAT? we can believe that God keeps His promises. Tell me: Who keeps His promises? [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Yes, it s true! [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Noah trusted that God would keep his family safe in the ark, and we can trust God too. Let s pray. PRAYER God, thank You for the TRUE story of Noah and how he trusted You to keep his family safe by building the ark. Thanks for loving us and for always keeping Your promises. We love You, God. Amen.

Reinforce the Bottom Line of our Bible story with fun crafts! When kids have something to take home and show their parents, it can prompt further dialogue at home! There are lots of things God has told us to do. When I say your name, tell me one thing God has told us to do that you need to do. (Say each child s name and write down what they say. Remember to print the names so the children can recognize their names and the letters.) This is such a great list. Thank you! Would anyone like to pray before I pray? Hang your prayer journal chart page on your door for parents to see! They will love to know you are digging deep with their kiddos! PRAY Dear God, we want to do what You tell us to do, just like Noah did. We believe You keep Your promises and trust that Your plan is always best, even when it s hard or we don t understand. Make it Stick activity Make today's Bottom Line and Bible story stick with closing activity Animal pictures (use as for ideas) Let s make some animal sounds & moves. DO Gather all the children to the center of the room. Explain the animal charades. SAY Let s have some fun moving like animals. I ll make the move, and sound, you copy me. Then you tell me what animal we are. While a volunteer is guiding the children in this activity, have other volunteers clean/wash the tables & set up the classroom for the next service. ****(If there is a service after) IDEAS: monkey, elephants Dogs, cats, birds, tiger, bear KEY QUESTION: Who keeps His promises? BOTTOM LINE: God keeps His promises! DISMISS 1. Greet parents at the door with a smile! 2. Take off each child's sticker after you check his/her claim tag. 3. Tell parents something encouraging about their child. 4. Ask the child to repeat the Bottom Line or the memory verse. 5. Send home a craft and a Small Talk/Coloring sheet with each child.
