Trestle Board November 2018 Volume, Issue Inside this issue: From the East 1 From The West 2 November Events 3 Island Degree 3 Panic on Plant Street 4/5 Sea Cadet Fundraiser 6 2018 Officers 7 November Charity United cerebral palsy of Winter Garden From The East My Brothers, October was a very event filled month and I'm extremely proud of all the hard we have done with this year s Panic on Plant Street! We had a tremendous turnout every night and a whole lot of fun and fellowship! It was amazing to see the community coming out to support our event and all the smiling faces. I'm sure we have created many lasting memories and another fantastic yearly tradition for the families of our community! I'd like to give a special thank you to Brother Ken McGowan and his wife Karen for providing a ton of hand built kids games that turned the outside area into a small carnival for all who attended. It was an amazing addition to our event and provided a wonderful family friendly activity that was enjoyed by all! I'd also like to thank Susan Nastasi and Soul Haven Ranch for bringing her carriage for photo opportunities and giving tours during our event nights. A very heartfelt thank you goes out to our cast, crew, make up artists, costumers, marketing team, and families that gave their time and talents to creating such an amazing haunted house experience. Each and every one of you should be proud of how much you made this year such a memorable one. We can all agree that the biggest thank you goes to Brother Chris Gideos and his wife Marla for all of their hard work in bringing this event to life and all of their experience and expertise! We are truly blessed to have such incredibly talented members who are so willing to donate their time and talents to our cause and us. November is the month we celebrate all that we have to be thankful for. I, for one, am thankful for each and every one of you! It is such a pleasure to be a part of such an amazing brotherhood. We've rejoiced during times of joy, we've shown compassion during times of strife, we've reached out when we've seen another struggle, we've given more of ourselves, and have been thankful for the time that we have given to each other. We've chosen to love each other in the truest sense of the word. We have been very busy bees striving to build the perfect hive, and our dedication has provided us with an abundance of the cement of brotherly love and affection that never, ever dies. Brothers, I'm excited about our future and how we continue to shape our Lodge into a thriving fraternity that welcomes and serves our community. During the coming holiday season let us keep our eyes open to those who may be in need of our love and support. Remember, it only takes a moment to change someone's life forever. It's what we do in those moments that determine how. So share a smile, share a conversation, share of your materials, and share your heart because love never runs out! Have a happy and safe holiday season. I'll see you all around the Lodge! Fraternally, Michael Kramer, Worshipful Master
Page 2 Winter Garden Lodge Trestle Board From The West Hello from the West, It gives me great pleasure to say that the sign project is making progress. The next time you are at the Lodge you will notice that the bottom half- the changeable letters and tracks are in place and are currently being used by Panic on Plant Street. The Square and Compasses and our Lodge name and number are in place. I have had the privilege to help with the construction of the Haunted House, Panic on Plant Street project and can let you know it was a smashing success. Each night was a sellout, leaving many happy customers. November brings us the Lodge Elections so make sure that you figure out who you want in the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. This is not our mid-term, it is the full term elections for us! Whoever is put into the positions I am sure they will do the best jobs they are able to serve the Craft. Be sure to make your nominations and give them to Jerry Clark PRIOR to the start of the meeting being called on November 1st, as per our directives. Any Brother in good standing can be elected to any of the positions. On the good side of the order, last weekend I was elected to be the President of the National Model Railroad Association, Sunshine Region. It is a term of 2 years. It is not as intense as some of the positions in our lodge but worthy of note. Not much else to report this month except that you should not forget about the change of time coming up, remember Spring forward and fall behind. Don t make the same mistake I once made and show up two hours early! Fraternally, David M. Barron, Senior Warden PT
