TRINITY TOGETHER Trinity Lutheran Church 357 West Main Street Kutztown, Pennsylvania 19530 July/August 2017 Director of Youth & Family Ministry: Seth Noggle 570-529-2325 Seth.noggle@gmail.com Editor/Administrative Assistant: Lisa Finke 610-683-3450 Office@trinitykutztown.com Church Office Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 AM 2:00 PM Website: www.trinitykutztown.com Our Mission Statement Telling others of God s unconditional love through worship; Empowering discipleship through education; Leading others to this family of Faith as baptized believers; Calling all to follow Jesus example of servanthood. Hello All! One thing I appreciate about the Church is that they recognize the importance of milestones. The Church not only celebrates these moments, but they cherish, and recognize them. It s something we do as a community. We come together for new life in baptism, new life together in holy matrimony, and the new life of resurrection at death. I think we need these milestones in our life. They help us to mark passage in time, and they help us to see the sacred and beautiful that constantly surrounds us as we walk through life. They remind us that we are not in this alone; that we have a community of people that are here with us. It s easier to go along the path when you see the footsteps ahead of you. Others have been down this path before and have made it. We also leave a fresh set of footprints for those who are following behind us. The Church is present with us. This reminds me of a passage from Hebrews that says, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. May we be a Church that is present with each other, with our communities, with our nation, and with our world. I ll end with the final blessing we gave to Keith: May God s blessings be with us as we go forth to continue the ministry of Christ. Peace, Seth 1

Just go to the church s website (www.trinitykutztown.com) and look in the sidebar on the left the link is near the bottom. If you have any questions please call the church office at 610-683-3450. It is a great day of worship, food, and fellowship. A sign-up sheet will be on the office door soon. We hope you can join us! There are a few Sundays in 2017 that do not have altar flower sponsors. The following dates are still available September 3 September 24 October 8 October 29 November 12 December 31 Also we are in need of flower chairpersons for the months of August, September, and October. Being a chairperson involves calling the flower sponsors for each Sunday that month to remind them to order flowers, to find out what should be written in the bulletin, and to take flowers to shut-ins or members who are in the hospital after the church service if necessary. If you are interested in sponsoring flowers for either of these dates or being a flower chairperson please contact Darlene Dietrich at 610-683-7975 or the church office. Bulletin Sponsors The 2017 Bulletin Sponsor Chart is on the bulletin board outside the church office. If you are interested in sponsoring bulletins please sign up for the week or weeks you are interested in. Cost for the bulletins is $20 per week. Hope s Table Trinity will be organizing several meals at Hope Lutheran Church in Reading. The dates for these meals are July 25 th and August 22 nd, and we would like your help to serve food at this meal. The time involved would be approximately 4:30 PM to 7 PM that night. If you would like to help out please speak with the church office. Male Voices Needed Trinity needs male voices on the choir. We do not have enough male voices to cover the parts. You do not need to read music. Please consider singing in the choir. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:45 pm and Sunday mornings at 10:15 am. There is no choir during July or August. Contact Bruce Rohrbach to volunteer. -Thank you. 3

From our Church Council Pastor Keith has told us that he will not accept requests or invitations from us to perform pastoral functions on our behalf. To respect his resolve, members should make all contacts for pastoral services to the church office during the summer and to our interim pastor starting in September. When a new pastor is called and begins his/her service, all such requests should be made directly to him/her. Worship Service at the Kutztown Folk Festival If you were planning on attending worship services at the Folk Festival coupons for admission for congregation members are included below and are also available at the back of the sanctuary and in the weekly newsletters. The Lutheran worship service will be held on Sunday, July 2 nd at 10:30 AM on the Main Stage. Worshippers can enter through the main gate at 9:00 AM with the coupon. Choir and musicians can enter through the vendor s gate beginning at 7:00 AM. If you have any questions please contact the church office. Dates: August 7 th 11 th 6-8:30 PM at St. Paul s UCC We are excited to announce that we'll be partnering with St. Paul's UCC, and they will be hosting it this year at their Church. Seth will still be there helping with VBS along with other Trinity volunteers. This is a way to hopefully reach out to more families and hopefully have an even more fun and active VBS. We are looking forward to this partnership, and hope your children are still able to come out. The theme for this year will be Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, Made for a Purpose. Please let Seth know if you have any questions, or would like to help volunteer! Mark your calendars! VBS Fundraiser We will be participating in some hoagie fundraisers with St. Paul s UCC to help offset the costs of VBS. An order form is included in this newsletter. Please return the order form with the money to the church office by July 9 th. A great way to help out and have lunch or dinner already planned for you! 4
