Remembering Our Parishes Please consider remembering St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Parish or St. Joseph School when drafting your estate plans. For more information, please call Laura Powers at 781-396-0423 Ext 113. Thank you. From Fr. Paul Dear Friends, After celebrating Halloween, "All Hallows' Eve," join us in celebrating the holy day, All Saints' Day on November 1. Please see the schedule elsewhere in this bulletin; there are two evening Masses for those who cannot attend during the day. Let us ask for the intercession of all the saints, that they will help us on our pilgrimage company to the Lord. Also, the month of November is the month that we pray more intensely for those who have died. See the schedule for the Mass of Remembrance at each parish next weekend, November 3 & 4. The Lord has made many promises of eternal life; let us pray for our loved ones who have gone before us, that He may welcome them to their eternal rest. Finally, let us give thanks to several priests who are helping us at our parishes while Fr. Peter is in China until Nov 15. Fr. Joe Gaudet and Fr. Pat Universal are senior priests living at Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville; Fr. Tom Macdonald is a teacher at St. John's Seminary; Fr. Lester Shields SJ is a Jesuit on a sabbatical in Cambridge; and Fr. Frank Sullivan is parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception in Malden. We are grateful for their generous help! And, this moment is a good reminder for all of us to pray for more vocations to the priesthood. Who are the young men whom God is calling to step forward to help these priests in service to the Lord? As Father Paul mentioned in his appeal letter, this collection is critical to maintaining the financial stability of our parishes. Our Weekly Offertory alone doesn t cover all our operating expenses, so our Grand Annual collection is very helpful. If you have yet to contribute, we ask for your prayerful consideration and generosity. The campaign is off to a great start! In the first three weeks, each parish has already raised over 30% of the goal! Friends of Francis Gift Card Donations It s that time of year again! With the Holidays fast approaching, we are looking for $10.00 gift cards for supermarkets for our Thanksgiving Dinners. This year we would like them earlier as we will be giving our Turkeys earlier. As always we appreciate your generosity. You may leave them in the box at the back of the church, at the Collaborative Office at 114 High Street, or at the Food Pantry on Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm. Thank you, Jerri DiClemente Help Wanted We need two volunteers in each parish (St. Francis & St. Joseph) to unlock and lock up the church before and after the Sunday Masses, including the Saturday vigil Masses. While the priests can often perform this task, it frequently happens that Fr. Paul and Fr. Peter have to hurry from one parish to the other one, either before or after Mass for a wedding, baptism, or something similar. If you are interested in volunteering for this job, please contact Father Paul. Thank you.
