The Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time Saturday and Sunday November 10-11, 2018 www.stjudecatholic.org November 10-11, 2018 Dear Friends: I will begin this week s column with a little Catholic, Confirmation, football humor. Last Sunday, Bishop Duca was with us for his first visit to Saint Jude to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. More on that in a moment. Anyway, prior to Sunday, our Liturgy Committee had placed a couple of nice arrangements of flowers in the sanctuary in preparation for Confirmation. The flowers were red and white. After the 8:00am Mass, a nice gentleman walked up to me and said,...and so, Confirmation is today? I replied, yes, it is. He continued, well, the flowers are beautiful. Please tell the ladies. But, father, red? And White? Today of all days? And we both laughed. On a more serious note, congratulations to our newly Confirmed eleventh graders! Thank you to our Confirmation Team and our parish office staff for all of the assistance with preparation. The Mass was beautiful. I want to once again offer my particular thanks to our music ministry for an outstanding job. We are so blessed here at Saint Jude, in so many ways. I hope that we don t take our blessings for granted. We are moving more into the season of thanks and remembrance and closer to the Season of Advent. We will keep you posted regarding Masses, school activities, and other opportunities for you during that time. Have a great week! Sincerely, Fr. Trey Pastor
