Over the last few weeks, I have received questions about various upcoming parish events. I hope the following information will be helpful to mark your calendars: Deacon Andrew Wellmann will be ordained a priest on Saturday, May 26 in Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo. The Mass will begin at 10:00 am. The Cathedral will likely be full, so it is recommended to arrive early for purposes of parking and availability of seats. In addition, the newly ordained Fr. Andrew will be the celebrant for the 11:30 Mass on Sunday, June 3 here at St. Peter s. The Spartan Scramble, our annual parish golf outing, will take place on Friday, June 8 at Westbrook Country Club. Please consider getting together with friends and family to form a foursome for this year s outing. The day includes a nice dinner after the golfing and there are a number of prizes to be won! All the proceeds of this fun event go to supporting the athletic programs in our school. One does not need to be a member of Westbrook Country Club in order to participate. Please contact Jason Crundwell or myself in the parish office for more details and/or to register. We are happy to announce that a seminarian for our diocese, Michael Bialorucki, will be joining us here at St. Peter's for the months of June and July. World Day Of Prayer For Vocations On Sunday, April 22, 2018 the Catholic Church throughout the world celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The purpose of this special day of prayer is to fulfill publically the instruction of Jesus who said; The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Addition of Three New Priests On Saturday, May 26, the Lord will bless the church in Toledo with the addition of three new priests, ordained by Bishop Daniel Thomas for service in the diocese of Toledo. One of those young men is Deacon Andrew Wellmann, who has been closely affiliated with our parish for several years. Deacon Andrew will then celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Peter s Parish on the feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday June 3 at the 11:30 Mass.
