The Booster Illinois District Church of the Nazarene September 2017 Issue Nothing will be impossible for you www.illinoisnaz.org Illinois District Office PO Box 1054, Alton, IL 62002 Phone: (618) 462-4361 Email:office@illinoisnaz.org Facebook: Illinois District Church of the Nazarene From the District Superintendent He (Jesus) replied, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10 : 18 19). This scripture came alive to me when we were in the midst of a battle with the powers of darkness. Reality is, the enemy of God is doing all he can to discourage pastors and leaders, and to stop the work of the Church. It seems that across the Illinois District, Satan has stepped up his attack in our churches and in people s lives. We don t have to settle for defeat. We are empowered by the love, presence, and power of God. The Holy Spirit is waiting to be unleased in and through each of us!! God s Word reminds us, The weapons we fight with are not weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10 : 4). Many of our churches have established, real, powerful prayer meetings. Many of you have focused on marching forward in battle, unleashing the power of God. James Kraemer Dist. Supt. As we are unified as believers and desperate for HIS presence, we will continue to defeat the enemy of God across our District. So. What time is it? IT S OUR TIME!!!! Let s keep reaching new people with the love, presence, and power of Christ, let s keep praying and seeking HIM, and we will continue to move forward to Victory in Jesus!!! NYI Student Ministries Pastor Jay Bush ~ NYI Missions The District wishes to thank Pastor Jay Bush and the Springfield Youth Group for all the hard work they did in cleaning up the District Parsonage Property in Chatham. They trimmed trees, cleaned up old branches, and spruced up the entire area. We thank you for hard work and having a servants heart. The District just received an offer and is in the process of finalizing the contract. We greatly appreciate these young people and Pastor Jay for heading up this work. Sandy Stickler ~ NMI President September Missions Sandy Emphasis: Stickler Alabaster - NMI The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. While we understand the church consists of the people of God and not a building, buildings erected for the purpose of ministry help provide a sense of permanence, functionally enhance ministry efforts, and convey an attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to "put down roots." Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers. LINKS: Each of your churches has been assigned a Links missionary to link with this year. If you don't know what Links is or who your missionary is please contact me. As we mentioned at District Assembly Links is one of our goals this year. Presidents were given information about the missionary. There was attached a yellow sheet of paper that showed your monetary gift portion. It is time to send that amount to the Global Treasurer (designate which missionary). Please make this missionary part of your church family with prayers and cards. Our missionary district tour is coming up. Information will be forthcoming to the zone leaders. Our missionary Andy and Judy Bennett are involved with the hospital in Papua New Guinea. We are asking you to bring to the rally some items needed for the Operation Warm Baby. Everything a baby needs to start life. We deliver over 1700 babies each year in our hospital. Many times because of poverty, the mother comes with very little for her newborn. This is a gift we can give in the name of Jesus. A gallon zip lock includes 1 onesie, 1 sleeper, 1 hat, 1 pair of socks, 2 cloth diapers and 2 pins, 2 pair of plastic pants (if you can find them), 1 bar of baby soap, 1 washcloth.
