From Fr. Liguori, Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Dillon Rudio (Amanda) who received the Sacrament of Matrimony on August 3- First Friday at St. Patrick. Amanda is the daughter of parishioners Armando and Fe Reyes. Holy Day of Obligation this week August 15- the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Masses: Tuesday August 14 vigil Mass @ 6:00 pm (no holy hour) Wednesday August 15 8:00 am w/the school children 6:00 pm Replica of the Shroud of Turin We are blessed to have a relica of the Shroud of Turin hanging in our church, just to the right of the right transcept, to the left of the east doors, in the front of the church. The origins of the Shroud of Turin, the delicate piece of cloth said to have been wrapped around the body of Jesus of Nazareth, has been debated for centuries. The replica features the recognizable face of a man with arms crossed over his stomach and reddish stains from the feet, hands, ribcage, slashes across the back akin to whip marks and spots on the head where, one presumes, a crown of thorns was worn. It has been placed there for your veneration. It was donated by a generous parishioner and framed by another generous parishioner. Attention of parents with children attending non-catholic schools: It s time to register your children for our Sunday Religious Education classes. Cathy Taylor will be available to assist you beginning this weekend. First day of school- Tuesday August 14! Welcome back students and a big welcome to all of our new students! The statue of Our Lady of Fatima has weekly slots available for you to take home. The intention is to have the image in your home to pray for our parish. A sign up sheet is on the glass table in the entryway to the main church. 2
