SPECIAL EVENTS FOR 11-4-18 thru 11-11-18 Prayer Drop-In Sat., Nov. 3 Daylight Saving Time Ends Sun., Nov. 4 PrimeTimer s Lunch Wed., Nov. 7 Wine Tasting Event Sat., Nov. 10 UPCOMING EVENTS Thrift Shop Thank-You dinner Wed., Nov. 14 VESTRY NOMINATIONS NEEDED BY NOVEMBER 7, 2018 Fredy Castellanos, Kerith Lee, Pamela Russo, and Robert Waller will complete their terms on Vestry as of December 31, 2018, and we will be electing four (4) new Vestry members on December 9, 2018. Serving the Church at this level of commitment is a Godgiven call. Please pray and ask God to help you discern a call to serve on our Vestry. When we give our Yes to God, God gives us the enthusiasm, stamina, and joy we need to serve faithfully. If you or someone you know would like to stand for the 2019 Vestry, please submit the names, along with a brief biography and picture of the nominee, to Mary Halliburton, our Jr. Warden, by Wednesday, November 7, 2018, for consideration. Please remember that if you nominate someone, you must have their permission to do so. You are also welcome to nominate yourself. Candidates for Vestry must: (a) be a member of our parish in good standing; (b) be at least 18 years old; (c) be a regular attendant at services in the preceding year; and (d) be known by the Treasurer to have made and fulfilled a stated financial commitment in the preceding year. Vestry responsibilities include attending a monthly Vestry meeting to advise and conduct Christ Church business, encouraging and supporting volunteers, and serving as an ambassador to the parish and community. For more information, please contact Mary at mmhallib@comcast.net or 404/433-5529.

PRAYER DROP IN, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2018 At Christ Church Episcopal Norcross, sponsored by The Order of St. Luke and The Daughters of the King. Come anytime between 9:00am - Noon. Receive prayers to heal your body, mind, or spirit. Pray quietly on your own. Pray for your family, friends, or forums. Walk the labyrinth. Try out the prayer stations. All are welcome. DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS NOVEMBER 4, 2018 Most of the United States has basked in an extra hour of daylight since the spring. But that's coming to an end. On November 3rd, before you go to sleep, remember to set your clocks back an hour, so you will not be late for Sunday services as we celebrate All Saints Sunday. These spring and fall clock changes continue a long tradition started by Benjamin Franklin to conserve energy. MISSION OF MERCY FOR NOVEMBER, NICHOLAS HOUSE Thank you Christ Church for supporting Nicholas House for 36 Years. Because of your support, Nicholas House assists homeless families in making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency in a structured but home-like environment through one of several housing programs. The three main goals that form the basis of self-sufficiency are: Earning a living wage; Maintaining the physical, mental, and social health of parents and children; and Maintaining safe and stable housing. Nicholas House is the only shelter in Atlanta that provides housing to homeless families regardless of family makeup. As of today, Nicholas House serves around 300 homeless family members every night.
