Praising God is simply bragging about how great and awesome He really is! We often think about bragging in negative terms but when we brag about God we are speaking the truth. In Psalm 34:2 David writes, My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice. When we proclaim Him as mighty, it s because He is the Almighty (Revelation 4:18). When we declare God faithful, it s because that s His nature (1 Corinthians 1:9). And when we sing out to God You are Good, it s because He is good all the time (Nahum 1:7). Hebrews 13:15 states, Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. As we continually offer up our sacrifice of praise to Him we will find that our perspective changes. As we praise God we are reminding ourselves of who our God is, what He can do, and what He has already done. Our problem or circumstance will no longer seem as big or as overwhelming when we turn our focus to proclaiming the wonders of the God Most High. Our sour attitude will soon be transformed into a thankful, humble one. Looking for assistance in praising God, well here are two suggestions: 1. Try using the alphabet to praise God. Think about different names or attributes of God beginning with A and working your way through the rest of the letters. For example: A All-powerful, B Bright Morning Star, C Compassionate, D Deliverer, etc By the time you get to Z you will have reminded yourself of at least 26 different characteristics of the Powerful, Omniscient, Merciful, and Gracious God you serve. 2. Try the Book of Psalms. It is a great place to find words of praise that we can speak back to our God. Check out Psalms 8, 33, 92, 93, 100, and 111. A great way to practice your praise is by joining with others in a time of corporate worship through prayer. Curtis and Rosa Pryor lead a time of corporate prayer on Sundays at and Wednesdays at. PrayKids (for kids in 1 st through 6 th grades) also meets on Wednesday nights at. Praise the LORD, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth. For he loves us with unfailing love; the LORD s faithfulness endures forever. Psalm 117 (NLT) Praise the LORD! Prayer Ministry

From the Pastor The Bible clearly states that every Christian is called to go out into the world and bring people into the Kingdom. We re supposed to share what we ve been given. But what exactly are we supposed to share? It can be summed up in in two words: Good News. Mark 16:15 (NLT) tells us to "preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere." Do you like to get good news? Everybody does. Do you like to share good news? Most people do. I know you re thinking, The people I work with, my friends -- they re not interested in the Good News, at least not the Good News that you are talking about Pastor Paul. You re dead wrong! They may not be interested in religion, but they are interested in the Good News. THE PROBLEM IS NOT THAT YOUR FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS AREN T INTERESTED. THE PROBLEM IS YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW GOOD THE GOOD NEWS REALLY IS. Once you ve been a Christian for a while, you forget how miserable it was to live without hope. You forget what it was like to worry where you would go when you die. You forget what it was like to have a life full of guilt and fear and regrets and bitterness and boredom. What happens is that the longer you re a Christian, the more you tend to take for granted how good the Good News really is. If you go out on the street and ask, How do you convince God to like you? 99% of the people will say, You ve got to be really, really good. You ve got to keep a lot of rules and you ve got to be religious. The Good News is that you get right with God through a relationship based on placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ -- not through a religion of rules, regulations, and rituals. When we trust our lives to Jesus Christ, he takes care of our past, present, and future. If you trust Jesus with your life, you get forgiveness for your past, a purpose for living in your present, and a home in heaven in the future. Is that Good News? I think so, don t you! Do you think anybody you know would be interested in that? Of course! You see, Satan has fooled you. You think that none of your friends or the people you work with are interested in hearing the Good News. You re wrong. The world is hungry for Good News. They re looking for it. The Good News keeps sounding better and better because the bad news of the world keeps getting worse and worse, so go out and share it! On Easter Sunday we are believing God for 400+ in attendance. I am asking you to invite your friends, your neighbors, and work associates to church. We will have neighborhood packs available that you can give out to those who live around you. And on Easter Sunday we will have a special gift bag for our visitors. So begin praying now for the people you want to invite to our Easter services. Pray also that God will fill His church to capacity and that souls will be saved. If you will ask, people will come! Easter was and is all about a selfless act of love by our God who gave his everything so that we might have a relationship with Him both now and eternally. He gave His all and now you and I get to decide what we will give so that others will hear the Good News on this Big Day? Have you decided where you will serve? Will you give of yourself on this day so that a Mother will be able to hear the Good News uninterrupted? Or serve in the preschool area so that a little child may hear for the first time Jesus loves you! Maybe you have chosen to serve coffee and doughnuts park cars, or smile and greet new comers with a welcoming handshake and say, We are so glad you are here! There are lots of ways to serve so please stop by the foyer and sign up. It is vital that we think of others on this day and show it in tangible ways as we flesh it out with love! One small way we can all show a little love is by filling out gray cards each week. Why? Because guests feel uncomfortable doing anything that makes them stick out. They already feel like everyone is looking at them so when we ask them to do something that singles them out it embarrasses some of them and some guests don t fill out cards at all. Since we don t want to do anything that could in anyway make them feel uneasy.we will all fill out cards. Since we don t need all that info from members or regular attenders, all you need to do is fill out your name on the top. If you have recently moved or have a new phone number, by all means please fill out the card completely so we can update our records otherwise just fill in your name. If you have a prayer request you can place that on the back as well, this is a great way to let us know about those prayer needs. Why would we go to such lengths? Because our Savior went to even greater lengths. This is such a small inconvenience on our part to make someone feel welcome. When guests don t fill out cards we lose valuable opportunities. If we don t get the information on the card, it keeps us from being able to follow up. Following up with each guest greatly increases the likelihood of that individual or family returning to future services. It is a rare occurrence that someone comes to know Christ the first time they hear about Him so with each touch each time we have with them is a new opportunity to share and disciple them. And that is what we as a church are all about! Sharing Christ and discipling believers! So what will be your part on the BIG DAY? Can t wait to see what God is going to do! Teresa See you Sunday, Bible in hand. Pastor Paul
