Trinity KG is located at 9425 King s Highway in King George. The Conference is open to all Church Elected Officers and all Fredericksburg District Pastors. The purpose of the Called Conference is to approve the sale of Grant UMC in Westmoreland County by recommendation of the District Trustees. Grant UMC will be discontinued as of July 1, 2014. Annual Conference Updates: Fletcher s Chapel sent a mission offering of $220. The United Methodist Women helped collect 6 Health Kits, 2 Sewing Kits, and 2 School Kits. Our thanks to all who gave to the offering and helped assemble Kits. Ice Cream Social: Mark your calendars because you do not want to miss this! Join us on Sunday, July 13 th at 4:00pm for an Ice Cream Social. We need volunteers to prepare homemade ice cream. Please speak with Pastor Mike if you will bring a freezer of ice cream. It should be hot in mid-july so join us for a cool treat and a time of fellowship.
Nursing Home Ministry: Meet at church on Wednesday morning at 9:30 and we will travel to Heritage Hall Nursing Home for a time of singing with the residents. Remember! Canned Food Offering Next Sunday! The Canned Food Offering is collected on the first Sunday of each month. This food will be sent to the King George Social Services Food Bank. King George County residents who are in need of assistance may receive a two or three day emergency supply of food once a month with proof of residency. The Heartwood Center: A Shared Ministry of the Fredericksburg District The Heartwood Center is a Christian ministry center offering programs for the surrounding community, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and international disaster response. The Mission and Community Center is the result of the prayers of our Fredericksburg United Methodists seeking to respond to the needs around us. For the next three Sundays, we will collect a special offering for the Heartwood Center. Each church on the Fredericksburg District has been asked to receive a special offering for this ministry. This offering will provide seed money as the Heartwood Center is in its initial stage Please write in the memo section of your ch6eck or on the outside of your envelope Heartwood if you feel called to support this ministry. Vacation Bible School at Fairview Beach Sunday, July 20 Thursday, July 24 Nightly Schedule (6:00 8:15): 6:00 Dinner/Opening 7:15 Arts & Crafts 6:25 Bible Lesson/Mission Emphasis 7:40 Games/Playtime 6:50 Music 8:10 Closing Volunteer Needs: 1. Meal volunteers to plan, provide, and serve dinner for each day. 2. Recreation volunteers to lead games and other physical activities and have the ability to participate daily. 3. Arts and crafts volunteer to guide children in the activities and have the ability to participate daily for one week. The craft will be pre-organized. 4. Music volunteer to lead music and have the ability to participate daily. 5. Volunteers to assist with miscellaneous tasks and supervision of children and have the ability to participate daily. Supplies Needed: Bean Bags, Water Balloons, Regular Balloons, Hula Hoops, Activity Balls (like a kick ball or soccer ball), Glue Sticks, Color Markers, Hand Sanitizer, Pre-Sweetened Lemonade Mix, Paper Plates, Napkins, Cups, Plastic Cutlery Items to Borrow: Ice Chest Coolers, Water Coolers (5 gallon for holding lemonade and water) Help Us Spread the Word! Please bring your children, grandchildren, and your neighbor s children. This will be our only Vacation Bible School this summer. We expect to be joined by 10 15 children who live in the Fairview Beach area as well. Preregistration is appreciated but not necessary.
