1 The Covering of the Lord God covers us because He loves us. The Bible shows us from Genesis to Revelation He has covered us, He is covering us and He will never stop covering us. When we come to the altar, for any reason at all, He will cover us. As ministers we also cover people. Whether we do it with our prayers that are spoken, or with our silks and flags without words, the Lord loves to touch the hearts of people, for His banner over us is love. 1. Let us look at the meaning of the word COVER: a. To place something on or over b. The extend over c. To conceal or hide as in a secret place d. That which covers anything, spread by laying over another whether for security or concealment e. To shield / a shelter for protection f. To include or deal with g. To spread over as a liquid does h. To clothe 2. Where did covering first happen? In the garden with Adam and Eve. Blood was shed in order to produce their covering. God made tunics of skin and clothed them. Gen 3:21 Unto Adam H121 also and to his wife H802 did the LORD H3068 God H430 make H6213 coats H3801 of skins, H5785 and clothed H3847 them. God s motivation was His love and desire for reconciliation with them. That is God s motivation still for us today. That is what is being done through us as we minister in our gifts to others. 2Co_5:20 Now then G3767 we are ambassadors G4243 for G5228 Christ, G5547 as though G5613 God G2316 did beseech G3870 you by G1223 us: G2257 we pray G1189 you in Christ's stead, G5228 G5547 be ye reconciled G2644 to God. G Examples of covering in the Tabernacle of Moses: Consider how they relate to you personally as a minister Num 4:4 This H2063 shall be the service H5656 of the sons H1121 of Kohath H6955 in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 H6944 H6944 about the most holy things:

We are the arks of testimony. This veil can represent many things to you personally. (vs.5) b. Badgers skins represent suffering and the shedding of blood. The covering of blue represents heavenly things. As we go through sufferings God can reveal to us divine purpose in it. (vs.6) c. The showbread represents Christ in us. The blue cloth shows us His human nature as the Son of Man. (vs.7) d. Then is spread a scarlet cloth. In order to partake of the divine revelation of Christ as the Son of Man we must accept Him as our Savior. (vs.8)

3 e. The Lamp stand is now covered with a cloth of blue. The Lamp stand is the 7 fold spirit of God living in you. The cloth covered all of the Lamp stands vessels; everything that pertains to the spirit and godliness inside of you. (vs.9) f. The altar of incense was covered with a purple cloth. This indicates our position before the Lord in intercession as a royal priesthood. (vs.13) g. Verse 14 tells us that all implements connected to this altar of incense were covered with a badger skin which represents suffering and the shedding of blood. This shows us that intercession is not an easy thing. Each piece of the Tabernacle relates to us as individuals. Find yourself here. Ask the Lord what condition is the tabernacle of your heart. They covered the Lampstand with a blue cloth which represents revelation in your spirit man. Ask for revelation. They covered the Showbread with a red cloth which represents redemption of our total person. Sozo: the saving of our spirit, soul and body. Ask for healing in all three areas of your life. 4. Examples of covering and what this covering does for us and others: a. Covering of the Lord was placed on the shoulders of Benjamin. Shoulders speak of governmental dominion over the land. This means our personal dirt too we are born of Adam. (dirt) We have been given authority over ourselves. Deu 33:12 And of Benjamin H1144 he said, H559 The beloved H3039 of the LORD H3068 shall dwell H7931 in safety H983 by H5921 him; and the LORD shall cover H2653 H5921 him all H3605 the day H3117 long, and he shall dwell H7931 between H996 his shoulders. H3802 b. The covering of the Lord is placed over us to keep us safe from our enemies. The word cover used in Psalm 91:4 means to intertwine as a screen or a fence that keeps someone in. Psa 91:4 He shall cover H5526 thee with his feathers, H84 and under H8478 his wings H3671 shalt thou trust: H2620 his truth H571 shall be thy shield H6793 and buckler. H5507 c. God s heart covers our shame or nakedness. Isa 58:7 Is it not H3808 to deal H6536 thy bread H3899 to the hungry, H7457 and that thou bring H935 the poor H6041 that are cast out H4788 to thy house? H1004 when H3588 thou seest H7200 the naked, H6174 that thou cover H3680 him; and that thou hide not thyself H5956 H3808 from thine own flesh? H4480 H1320 d. He covers us with skin to bring form and order in our bodies and to breathe life into us.

H3068 e. In Revelation He speaks of covering us with robes of righteousness as a Bride, which speaks of our destiny. G40 5. Perverting God s covering The enemy would like to pervert God s plan and cover us with shame and bondage. Shame and bondage are two of his weapons against the Bride of Christ to keep her from walking out her destiny and living free. We as ministers must choose to walk free so that we can impact others and be an example for them; the saved and unsaved. Purpose for ministry and minister with purpose The Tabernacle talks of Jesus presence there and now in the New Testament, He is present in us! He is in us to cover others, set up His government, be an active form of the gospel(with skin on), to cover others nakedness, wear our robes of righteousness and spread our wings of security over others. All of these things can be accomplished through your ministry calling. Let s look at 1Peter 4:8, Pe 4:8 And G1161 above G4253 all things G3956 have G2192 fervent G1618 charity G26 among G1519 yourselves: G1438 for G3754 charity G26 shall cover G2572 the multitude G4128 of sins. God used Elisha s body as a vehicle for death defeating anointing to flow through. (2 Kings 4:34) b. Paul s handkerchiefs for healing and deliverance. (Acts 19:12) c. Peter s shadow healed people. (Acts 5:15) d. The woman with the issue of blood touching the hem of Jesus garment and was healed. (Mark 5:25) Sometimes when we minister to people with our gifts we are on assignment from the Lord. We release deliverance from evil spirits, bring healing for sickness and disease and restoration for the full person; spirit, soul and body. Ministry time or continue to teach Ministering with Flags and Silks Demonstration and Activation 1. Explain the silks I have with me as examples. 2. Demonstrate different ways to minister to someone at the altar. a. Laying silk on them if they are kneeled down b. Draping over shoulders c. Draping over head as liken a talliet d. Dancing around them 3. Listening to the Holy Spirit: don t rush. He is like the wind. a. The wind cleanses and washes over them (Job 37:21) b. The Lord Himself rides on the wings of the wind.(psalm 18:10) c. God will raise up a destroying wind(jer.51:1) d. The Lord even uses the wind to bind. (Hos.4:19) 4. Go over some of the movements as they relate to scripture. a. Barak: To praise by kneeling down. To bless with a heart of humility. Psalm 95:6 O come let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

6 b. Chul: To twist or whirl in a circular or spiral manner; to dance in a circle. Isaiah 66:7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she delivered of a man-child. c. Hiliykah: Marching in a procession, a going; a way. Psalm 68:24 They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary. d. Karar: To dance or whirl in a circle. This comes from the root word battering ram. 2 Sam. 6:14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 5. Three different positions Prostrate, Kneeling and Raising of the hands, Standing and raising of the hands a. Demonstrate how to minister around several people in these three positions. b. Demonstrate how to minister to someone who is standing. 6. Activation time a. First activation: Instrumental CD Get a partner- one minute each in all three positions b. Second Activation: Dance with Me by Paul Wilber This is personal ministry time between you and the Lord. Try to use the movements you have learned as a way to talk to the Lord about what kind of ministry you need. It is a way of carrying on a conversation with Him in movement.
