1 June 2017 of eternal inheritance. (Hebrew 9:15) Bishop H. G. Long,Bishop /Pastor Greetings from Faith Walk Ministries Bishop Long s message was entitled: The Secret of the Lord The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant. (Psalms 25:14) I believe God carefully chose the word secret to use in this passage: its Hebrew root means to be alert, to be on the look out to watch, to be confident. The concept expressed here is powerful: God has a secret He will share only with believers who are willing to pursue it with passion. In essence, God does share this secret with everybody. This is why the Bible calls it a secret, but it is be known to all who want to know it. The secret can be know through what is called God s New Covenant, that He made with mankind through ad by His Son, Jesus Christ. And for this cause, he is the mediator of the new testament that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (Hebrews 10:16-17) This secret is that your Savior wants you to rejoice and be glad, because your past, present and future sins have been take away. Below is the speech given: Let me begin by welcoming all of you to today s Graduation/Promotion and thanks to Principal McClain for the introduction. I m very pleased to have been invited to speak here today on what I know is a very special day. It s special for the graduates/promotees, for their proud parents, relatives, and for their teachers. Today is one of those great occasions when we get to celebrate our young people their achievements, their successes as they grow up Promotees, as you enter in to your new grade you should know that your moms and dads are very proud of you today. They have high hopes for you, and they believe in you, and you are making them proud by showing what you can do.. Today is an important day for you and for them. Today they are very, very proud of you. Today would be a good day to ask for money. Today would also be a good day to hug them and thank them for supporting you, because as much as this is your achievement, this is also the achievement of the people who care about you You had some great times this year, and maybe you had some tough times, but you did it and you succeeded to the next grade. You are ready for the next step. So I ask you to take this opportunity to dedicate yourself to making the next year even better. Remember that you don t have to follow the crowd. Do the right thing, even if no one is looking. Study hard and remember that you re investing in yourself with every test you take and every book you read. And finally, don t be in too big of a hurry to grow up. These are some great times in your life. Don t rush past them. There are great things coming, and just as your parents are proud, each one of you should feel proud of yourself I challenge you all to take everything you ve learned and make the best of it. No, it s not going to be easy,, but I want for you all to continue to make PROGRESS. 1. Be the first one to ask a question in class 2. Exercise every day. 3. Take the lead in your classes: 4. Be a hero to someone.... So congratulation to all of the promotes, congratulation to the parent, and finally, congrats to the teachers and everyone else who helped our promtees here today. I ll leave you with this quote from a great author of whom I imagine you are all familiar, by the name of Dr. Seuss. This goes for all, but especially today those entering High School, because these years will go fast: You
4 have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You are the one who ll decide Where to go In Ephesians 6:1 says CHILDREN, OBEY YOUR PARENTS IN THE LORD; FOR THIS IS RIGHT. AND YOUR TEACHERS Congratulations, God bless and thank you From the desk of the Interim Superintendent Daisy Washington: Faith Walk Academy Our goal at Faith Walk Academy is to reach out and assist all of our students in their journey designed to prepare them for careers and citizenship. About 60% of our body is made up of water and it is one of the most important things we can give our physical body. Every system in your body needs water to live and function properly. Water Flushes toxins out of the organs Carries nutrients to every cell Affect how we feel(even mild dehydration can make you tired) Affects every body system As a rule of thumb, men and women should drink 8-8oz glasses of water daily. This is a simple and average suggestion. Everyone s body requirement is different. If you are very active, sweat a lots, are out in the heat, or sick; you should drink more water. The before mentioned things cause your body to use more water, and you would want to replace what is lost. If perhaps you fall in to the category of s it, and increase the goa who don t drink enough water daily, it s not too late to start. Set a small goal, work towards it, and increase the goal after you ve met it. You can do it! Your body is counting on You! Betty M. Wilson, FNP-BC
