Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Saior, I look forward to seeing you at our February Monthly Session at St. Titus One Baptist Church A detailed schedule for the week is listed below. This month the Congress Session will feature a Black History Bowl. Each church is encouraged to reiew the questions and hae at least one team to participate. DuBois at CONGRESS DEPARTMENT 2018 Oratorical CONTEST In preparation for the National Oratorical Contest, the Salem Baptist District Association encourages all high school seniors scheduled to graduate in June 2018 to participate in the Salem Baptist District Association Oratorical Contest to be held March 20, The Oratorical Contest proides young people with an opportunity to deelop and receie recognition for their public speaking skills. Contestants are judged based on a set of criteria that measure their demonstration of intellectual thinking and positie expression in an original written and oral presentation of the annual theme. College scholarships are awarded to the contestants with the highest scores at the district, state and national leel The National Oratorical Contest is held annually during the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education Annual Session. The theme for the 2018 Contest is: ENVISIONING THE FUTURE EXCEPTIONALLY AS WE LEAD DISCIPLES FOR CHRIST. Scripture references include Proerbs 29:18; Matthew 10:1; Romans 12:4; I Corinthians 12:17 and Ephesians 4:11. Each church is encouraged to hae at least one high school student from their congregation participate in this Contest. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to practice their oration skills and to receie scholarship funds that can be used to help them attain their education dreams. Please contact Janet D.
