Children of nursery school age may join in with the Sunday Club, which goes out after the first 15 minutes to Cross House. A crèche is available at the 9.30am service in St Katherine s aisle for younger children. There is a supervised crèche in Room 1 of Cross House at 9.30am for parents who prefer this option. Please ask one of our team at the door for help if needed. If we can assist you in any other way following the service, please complete one of our pew cards. Thank you. In our world, we give thanks that even in dreadful circumstances ordinary people have been able to rise above disaster and, with great compassion and bravery, give comfort and love to those who need it. We pray that we may learn from their example and that of the rescue services. Due to the closure of the church, Weekly Prayers will take place in Room 5 of Cross House on Wednesday 30 August. 4 General Notices Our Sunshine Sing-along for Memory, in the Kirk Hall on the second Thursday of each month pm. All those living with memory loss and their carers are welcome. Ordinations: We are delighted to give notice of two ordinations to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament at St Michael s in September: Ali Pandian on Monday, 4 September, and Derek Henderson on Sunday 24 September. Both at 7.00pm. We wish them God s blessing and thank God for them. Foodbank shortages: when we give a 3-day food supply to individuals and families in West Lothian we try to give a balance of foods. At present, we have little or no tinned fruit or diluting juice/cartons of long life juice. Donations of these items may be left in the box at the back of the church or at the door in the Crush Hall. Thank you! Audio-Visual Improvements: We are looking for some feedback on the monitors which have been on trial in the Church for the last few weeks. Girls Brigade 2nd Linlithgow Company GB St Michael s is the place to BEE this year. Come and join us on Wednesday nights in Cross House. from 6.30pm. No waiting list. All girls from P1 - S6 welcome. Girls Brigade Enrolment takes place in Cross House, 7-8pm on Wed. 30 August 2017 Songs of Praise: There will be a Songs of Praise at 5 pm on Sunday 3 September which will be of hymns from the Sacred Songs and Solos i.e. 'redemption' hymns. Christian Aid George Street Sale: The gross figure raised was 118,446, with 86,590 coming from books and the rest from other sales (pictures, toys etc.) and donations. Thank you to all who donated. Thursday for Coffee meets again on 7 September: Come along and enjoy a cuppa, home baking and chat with the group which meets on Thursdays in Cross House between 10 11am. All are welcome. We are hoping that the proceeds from this concert will give a great start to the fund raising for the new group of Belarusian children visiting Linlithgow in Notice Board - please note there are posters publicising events displayed on the notice board in the Kirk Hall servery. You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Though Peter does not yet fully realise what he is saying, his answer is a turning point in the gospel regarding the identity and mission of Jesus. The incident serves to set before his disciples who Jesus is, what he will do and what it means for the disciples to be faithful to him. It is a crucial moment in the ministry of Jesus when his person and work become clear to those around him, even if they do not fully understand its implications for his future and theirs. They are to be a new community, in some ways a new Israel, and will have leadership of the household of faith.
