1 1 啟示錄 (NTS 580 3Units) Spring Semester, 2018 Instructor: Dr. Wei Ho Wu, I. Course Description: This course is to give the student an understanding of the theology of Revelation and its interpretation in recent critical discussion. II. Student Learning Outcomes: This course should enable the student to: A. Describe the major theological themes in Revelation. B. Interpret the book within the context of a theological understanding of the New Testament as a whole. C. Describe and evaluate theological issues that are debated in the interpretation of Revelation. III. Course Requirements: 1. Class Preparation: Every student is expected to complete the weekly reading assignment before watching the lecture video in order to better understand the content and participate in online discussion. 2. Watch the lecture video: Every student is expected to watch the lecture video early in the week. 3. Participation in weekly online discussion: Weekly online discussion is a good way to learn and to interact with other students. Discussion topic will be posted each week. Every student is expected to respond the discussion topic each week. 4. Class assignments: A. Readings

2 2 Read the passages selectively from the books introduced in this syllabus. The minimum reading requirement is 1,000 pages. Bible reading is not accumulated for reading pages. Every student is required to read at least 400 pages in English. Report this reading assignment to Dr. Wu before 4/13/2018. B. Essay Paper The student is required to complete an essay paper. In terms of this essay paper the words required are about 5,000 words in Chinese, and it is due on 3/30/2018. C. Online Discussion Discussion topic will be posted each week. Every student is expected to respond the discussion topic each week. IV.
