Hebrews 13:9 A. Be rooted in Christ. Colossians 2:6-10 IV. We have an altar. Hebrews 13:10-13 A. The use of altars in the Old Testament. 1. Altars were built to honor God and to let those in the area know that you worship God. 2. First recorded altar was that of Noah giving thanks to God. Genesis 8: Elijah built an altar to show the power of God by fire. 1 Kings 18:21-24, B. The Israelites were to build two altars. 1. The brazen altar for the tabernacle and later the temple. Exodus 27:1-8 a. Sacrifices were made daily. Hebrews 10:11 2. The golden altar of incense for the holy place in the tabernacle and later the temple. Exodus 30:1-10 C. The Israelites had their altars and we have an altar. Hebrews 13:10 1. We - Whosoever - Anyone. John 3:16, Romans 10: Our altar is outside the camp. Hebrews 13: Our altar is the Cross. 4. The sacrifice was Jesus. Once for all. Hebrews 10:10 5. One sacrifice for sins forever. Hebrews 10:11-12

Revelation 21:21 b. Each gate had a name of one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Revelation 21:12-13 c. The wall had 12 foundations and garnished with precious stones. Revelation 21:14, The city is 12 thousand furlongs (1,500 miles) wide, long and high. Revelation 21:16 4. The wall is 144 cubits (250 feet) high. Revelation 21:17

The glory of God and the Lamb are the light of it. Revelation 21:23 9. The Holy Trinity, Israel and the Church live inside the city. Revelation 21:3, 9, The rest of the saved live outside the city on the new Earth. Revelation 21:24-27 a. They are organized into nations with kings. Revelation 21: The water of life issue from the throne of God and the Lamb in the city. Revelation 22:1 12. The tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits every month is there. Revelation 22:2 II. We are strangers and pilgrims on this earth looking for one to come. Hebrews 11:13-14 A. Abstain from fleshly lust. 1 Peter 2:11 B. Seek the city to come. Hebrews 13:14 Hebrews 13:15-25 I. The sacrifice of praise. Hebrews 13:15 A. Spiritual sacrifices. 1 Peter 2:5 B. Praise God with a song. Psalms 69:30 June 8, 2014 C. Give thanks always for all things. Ephesians 5:19-20 D.
