As we are sinful people we should realize that God has offered us the most beautiful gift of Grace and we don t deserve it. Just knowing he went to the cross for us and suffered the fate we deserved like Barabbas who killed people is amazing. Do you stop and think about the crowd and how they shouted out Crucify Jesus. If we had been there would we have also been in the crowd shouting crucify him or would we have tried to save him. It is easy for us to look back and know what we should, but when you are in a crowd, do we tend to go with flow, or step up and do the right thing. What do you think Barabbas was thinking when he was being set free for crimes he had committed, Jesus was to be crucified in his place. Do you think Pilate was innocent because he washed his hands of it? Don t we put ourselves in situations

2 that we don t want to take responsibility for the results? I know God has a plan and it is perfect so we need to accept his Grace. We had wonderful gathering at Bethel and a good crowd. The board selected our new Spiritual Director for Lowcountry Emmaus and it is David Lupo. He has been a vital part of our community for years and he is also Trainer for our Emmaus community. Please welcome him as he serves this community again on the Board. If you have not voted yet for our new board members, please do so because we will count the ballots at our next board meeting April 9 th. Please remember we will not have a gathering in April but our next one will be May at Mt. Moriah. In June we will have the gathering at the camp and details are in the newsletter. Keep in mind we need Pilgrims for the fall walks so don t wait until the last minute. May God bless each and every one during this Easter season and praise God each and every day. 3 From our Assistant Lay Director: Cliff Simpson If you have not already done so, please cast your vote before April 9 th. The board will be counting the ballot at the board meeting that evening. The Community holds elections every year to fill the seats of the board members that will be rotating off. We have 5 positions to fill. Listed below you will find the names of the people that will be running for the board positions. Please vote for 5 people to be elected for a seat on the board. You can bring the ballets to the March Gathering to give to me or you can give it to anyone on the board. You can also mail or it to me (address listed below). We would like to have the ballets back before our April 9th board meeting. We will announce the newly elected board members via e-blast due to we will not be having an April Gathering. 4 From Agape: Karen Ayers It s not too soon to start working on your agape projects for the September walks. Remember you need 65 pieces of each item for each walk. If you need ideas, or want to make sure your group isn t duplicating what someone else is doing, or just to let me know your plans, please contact me at klayers49@yahoo.com or From Literature: Karen Ayers I m still working on an album, a historical record, of photos and rosters for each of our walks. I have a number of photos I have not been able to identify and I d like your help. I also need photos and rosters from some of our past walks. I will have a display during fellowship time at each of the gatherings and you can check them out. I can also make replacement nametags, and we have extra reunion group cards and other materials. Please sign up at the May gathering, if you have not already done so, to bring a side and/or dessert. Hopefully many families in our community will set aside this day and plan to attend. From Records: Helen Cash To the Lowcountry Emmaus community members: Our LCE community data and records have been moved from IMS to a new Upper Room Program called Ministry Manager. After March 30, IMS will no longer be available. You will be receiving an from Upper Room Ministry Manager asking you to "join Emmaus". This invitation is legitimate. Please accept it so that you will stay connected to the Lowcountry community.
